Free Transunion Credit Score Knowledge Base
free credit score in canada? why is it that americans can actually get their free credit score online, but canadians can't? i realize i can go to the equifax and transunion sites and request it by mail, but how unfair is that? i worked at a finance company for three years, and am completely aware of how long it takes to print someone's bureau - seconds. it's my credit bureau, and i want access to it now - not in three weeks!! why is it so difficult and time consuming for me to get a hold of my bureau??? not so much a question, more of a rant... sorry! just a little miffed right now...
how to enquire about credit score errors? hey guys today i checked my FICO credit scores (from transunion) provided free by my providian credit card and saw it is down from 745 last month to 725 this month. i didnt do any hard credit request last month, although i took a carloan in may and paid it off in august ! then how come its down by 20 points? is it possible to enquire about a change in FICO score? if yes, how to do that? plis inform.
Is there a huge difference between a FICO credit score and the score given by the 3 credit bureaus? I've already gotten my free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com but now I'm looking to monitor my credit score periodically from all three bureaus. I know that FICO is probably the biggest credit score service is their number that much different than what I'd get from the credit score source that Equifax, Experian and TransUnion use? I just don't want to pay so much more for nothing. If FICO says my Experian credit score is 700 and I go to Experian.com and their service says my score is 692, I don't see the difference. Thanks.
Where to get the most accurate FICO/credit score? Ok I know that there are a ton of different FICO and credit scores out there. Example: I have a service called Identity guard and I get an update credit score every three months from all three credit bureus, I also get a FICO score from Transunion each month from a credit card account I have (its a free service) now the FICO score is about 80 points off from the scores I get from Identity guard why is that? If I want to see my score excatly as a banker etc. would see it if I applied for a loan whats the best route? I plan on appying for a car loan score and I want to know excatly what the bank would see for a credit/FICO score. And also how many different scores are out there? Does each bureau just have one score, or how does that work?
How come the Crdit report got free, varies from Paid Subscription? I got my free credit report of Transunion and My Score was 710. I have noticed some error, which I want to correct so I have subscribed to Transunion which is just 5days after. When I loged in, I see my credit score reduced by 25 points, looking for any negative report there was nothing other than one possitive report form Mortgage co. How come my 25points vanished within 5 days without any negative posting. I got both report printed . Any body have any idea?
I was thinking of gettin a loan to pay help pay off and improve my credit score, is this a good idea? I read that pay on loan on time and paying them off right away is a good way to improve your creit score. I had 6 credit cards (Clout Visa, Citi Bank Mastercard, Kohl's charge card, Kay Jewelers charge card, Sears charge card, and a QVC charge card.) Now I only have two cards that are open at the present time(QVC and Kohl's). Both of my open cards are almost maxed out, Kohl's has lowered my credit limit due to delinquencies, but QVC is still the same limit. The other ones are closed, I paid off Kay Jewelers and Sears. On or around 9/14/06 my Citi Bank Mastercard will be paid off. The only closed card that will be left would be the Visa. Couple days ago I recieve a letter from TransUnion, basically stating that I could get a free credit report with them and I have 4 negative items in my credit report. I think the negative items are the cards that are closed. I have been focusing on one card at a time, while paying the minimum amout due on the other cards on or before the due date.
Which credit reporting company scores highest? I recently discovered that you can get one free credit report from each of the three companies for free each year. I got my TransUnion one and my credit score was 651. Is this any good? Also which of three agencies generally score you higher? Would Experian or Equifax be higher or lower than my 651 from TrasUnion?
Are all credit score websites accurate in determining your score? I just paid $5.95 on Transunion (from www.annualcreditreport.com) to get my credit score after being able to view my credit report for free and I got an 819 out of 925 and was rated as only "good". Other credit score postings say 819 would count as God-like status. I just wanna make sure that's a reliable conclusion. And what does this mean when I (first time homebuyer, so not super rich) plan on applying for a loan.
i just went to annual credit report.com and..........? got a copy of my free credit report, the only problem is how do i find out what my credit score is? for instance my sisters is 720. i know i can buy one of them from experian, transunion, etc. for like....5.95. but.....since i get to view it once a yr for free, cant i know what my score is too?
What is the difference between FICO and Risk Score? I have two credit card accounts that provides free scores each month.... one uses FICO and other uses something called "Transunion Risk Score" which is 40 pts LOWER than my FICO. The FICO is also provided by Transunion. So which is more accurate and likely to be seen by the lenders? It also lists this as one of the reasons why my score is lower: Too few recently opened bank installment accounts (Reason 41) Is this referring to car loans?
Anyone else have problems verifying when buying/getting a Transunion report? I can get mine but my husbands free annual report(just Transunion) and one he tried to buy from Transunion said they couldnt verify so he called and kept answering questions and apparently they have some address he has never resided at cause he rattled off all the ones he has lived at.
