what does "updated" on credit dispute mean? I started an online dispute with one of credit bureaus and in some items says "remains" that i undrestand others say proccesing and there are a few that say"updated".what exactly does updated mean ? So i guess that means that it could have been removed or not.
How to dispute credit? I had credit pulled by a mortgage company and noticed errors. I want to dispute but I don;t want a credit report from the companies (I mean, I already have one, why the overkill) do I HAVE to have one by them to dispute online? If I want to dispute by mail, do I have to use the form from Transunion since I do not have a credit report by them. Also, what is the mailing address for Experian?
disputing credit card charges for online purchases? I found four different charges made on the same day to my credit card that I did not authorize. I found out they were for companies that sell software licenses online and software that once purchased is downloaded to the purchasers computer. I have disputed these charges with my credit card company and am waiting for a reply. My questions are should I cancel my card or have my card number changed. How likely it is that I would have to pay these charges even though I clearly did not purchase anything.
Online Credit repair question please help? I went to the credit sites and disputed several items that were incorrect.... It has been more than thirty days and most of them still say "Pending October 13th" Which is awful because it is past the 30 day mark... How can they do this? Am I screwed because I didn't do it by mail, but online?
Credit Dispute Question!? Ok, I think this would qualify as a two part question. So i just found out that my credit score dropped considerably. I have a parking ticket in Washington DC, and a collections notice from Verizon. My plus score dropped about 50 points. I think each of these were reported to just one of them changes were reported to just one agency each. The question is the parking ticket, and the collections item. I was wondering how to dispute these. Should i pay them then dispute them, or dispute and try to settle. Since one is a parking ticket, do you think the government will settle. I dont think they would, but i thought i would ask. I would appreciate any help. I was thinking of hiring a dispute agency to help out. I found some convincing agencies online. What do you guys think? Since there hasnt been any changes in the last two years, it seems that just these items dropped my score. Im thinking if i could get these deleted, i could easily lift my score back to normal. What do you guys think?
Will I get different outcomes on my credit dispute? I am fixing to dispute something on my credit report. I will be sending 2 letters, to Equifax, TransUnion and online to Experian. How likely is it that I will get differant responces back. Or is that impossible? Should I send them all together at once? Or does it matter? Thanks in advance, for listening to my ignorant questions lol! Won't know till I ask. Ok thanks Guys i will send to all 3!
What is the best way for me to dispute mistakes on my credit card bill? Here's my problem; Dec. 2nd I got a call that I was over my credit card limit & that I needed to make a larger payment than my Dec. statement listed to get back in good standing. I agreed, over the phone (perhaps that was my mistake) to make 2 payments within 1 week's time. Those payments are showing up on my Jan bill, but there is also a 3rd, larger payment listed which I did not authorize. Their failure to get that money out of my checking account has resulted in a return check fee, as well as additional "check by phone" fees. I've called twice about this error & have seen no results yet. I have accessed my account online & there is a link where I can dispute fees & credits. Would I be better off handling this online, rather than talking to customer service reps who tell me they'll look into it, but obviously haven't yet? Would I be out of line to report them to the Better Business Bureau if they don't clear this up soon? My card is through HSBC, if that matters.
will a credit card company refund a payment made online? i book a holiday online and accidently book the wrong dates the flight company will not refund the money and to change the booking they want the same amount again .i was told that maybe my credit card would dispute the payment with the flight company and refund the cost back to me .is this right
credit card dispute? i made an online purchase nearly a month ago and my item hasnt arrived. I've emailed the co. & no response back. so i assume this co. doesnt existence anymore or is some kinda scam. i called my CC co. to dispute the charge & they sent me a form to fill out. The thing is under "type of dispute" it says "unrecognized charge" which is UNtrue, i made the purchase, this co. just doesnt exist or never sent my product. should i just say i didnt make the purchase & go with that; would that make it easier to get my money back?
How to I avoid losing money when accepting credit cards for an online business? I am moving my business of selling mini ATV's to also include online purchasing for my customers, and I would like to accept credit cards. I am concerned however, that since the items we sell are expensive and often times our customers do not know how to operate the machinery, that the customers may receive the item and then 'stop payment' on the card and dispute the charge if they are not completely satisfied or able to operate the ATV. Is there a fast way to accept payments online that will ensure that I do not lose money for capricious customers...or, I hate to say it... the inept...? Customers in this area tend to think that the item is 'broken' a lot of the time, when really it is something that they are doing incorrectly, and they cry for refunds before calling us to 'troubleshoot' the problem. Is PayPal a good option for something like this?
Do I get a copy of my credit score after disputing with TransnUnion? I ordered a free credit report and there was an error. I disputed it and received a response that it was fixed, but could not see an updated report on their web site or a corrected score. Their web site says that they will send a report unless filed online. The report I see is still the old report and the score is also not updated so did I waste $8 on a bad score? I called and they want more money to tell me what the correct score should be and want me to pay for another report with the correction as well. Does anyone know how to get a good score and report from them after a dispute online?
I just ordered my credit report from Facts Act? I ordered all 3 of them through them on the phone, will all 3 still come with dispute forms so I can dispute inquries? Like you can online? Or am I going to have to send a letter to all the companies with the order numer and dispute through them? Or should I do both, my online credit report which I paid 30 bucks for and only got two reports say I have 8 inquries that were used to determine my score over the last 6 months, but there were I counted 28 of them. Some of these I did make, but some of them are on there twice from the same company, some of them are from the same day, I was under the impression that auto loans and such made within two weeks of each other counts as one.
How do I dispute a charge on my credit card? I bought some minutes from tracfone online. I try to use it to reactivate my phone, but it didn't work. I look at my credit card statement and I have a charge from them even thought I never recvived the minutes.
fiance has a civil claim against him on his credit?? THAT BELONGS TO HIS FATHER!! unfortunately, his parents named him after his father, but with a different middle name.. but it's so hard now because almost all of his father's bad credit ends up on my fiance's credit report!! and we have worked so dang hard to get him good credit!! well this time, it's a civil judgement from some jewelry store that they got a couple thousand dollars in jewelry and then hocked it all for cash.. anyway now the civil judgement is on my fiance's credit report.. i already did a dispute online with experian.. what else do i need to do?? i have dealt with cable companies, cell phone companies, etc. before for him, but i've never had to deal with a civil judgement.. what's the process for getting this removed?? and how can we further prevent his dad's crap from going on his credit?? it's really frustrating because he can't get a job or credit anywhere... thanks everyone!!
Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince? I graduated and began a new job. I went to India for 6 months. While i was away, I recieved a hospital bill. When I returned, I discovered it had been sent to collections. I called the hospital and paid the bill. I moved across the country (east to west coast). I called the collection agency verify that it had been marked as paid. I now have one collection account on my credit report marked as paid. I have been turned down for certain benefits because of this recent collection account being on my credit report. I tried filing a dispute online w/ equifax (the CRA reporting the collection account). Because of my recent changes in address, the online/phone methods fail to verify me, so i cannot order my credit report. Now I am supposed to mail in several pieces of POA to validate my new address. Before i do this, is it possible for the creditor or the collection agency to remove the account from my record? If so, i'd like to try it b/c at least i can talk to someone. I am only 22 years old w/ little but good credit history. I have one credit card (revolving credit since 2005) that i use frequently and pay off. I have almost no debt. Would the creditor/collection agency consider any combination of the following: - It was a medical bill for $108- i thought my insurance (from university or my company) would have covered it. - the hospital visit was Employment related and reimbursable by my company. Had I been given the bill right away, I would've paid it. - I was overseas and never recieved the bill (old address) - I mailed payment and it was lost in International mail - I'm just a kid!! I made a mistake. please give me a break! What's my best option? If I have to call Equifax, what's the best number to call (preferrably to speak w/ a human)? I know i've posted a similar question and this one is very long. Thanks for reading and helping out a young guy trying to get his life in order!
Are there any programs or services that will guide or help you in cleaning up your credit? Cleaning up your credit can take a lot of time. I usually cant find time between 8-5pm at work to stay still and make calls, when i finally get time at lunch im either in a no cell phone area or in a public area with a lot of ear hustlers. Are there businesses or even online services that will help you clean up your credit (disputes, corrections, payment of debts, etc) without spending all day on phone, etc?

What is the best way to work with credit report disputes that I know should be removed ? HI, My credit report is a mess, but it shouldn't be. I worked with an attorney and we settled all the debts. Now I need to go in and dispute them so they will clear them. I have the dispute form letter, I am signed up thru an oline site that does credit reports etc. I plan on sending out letters and have the "proof" letters from my attorney. Can I do this online easier ? Any professionals out there who know the tricks ? thanks
credit disputes...? i want to send in a dispute from Experian...i looked at their websites but there is only an option to do it online...but i do not want to do it online and want to send it through US mail....wat should i do??
Credit In My Name at 12 Needs To Be Cleared-Help!? An account with bellsouth was opened in my name when I was 12 years old. I am 19 and found out about it when I checked my credit report for the first time at 18 years old after I started college because i kept getting turned down for student cards. I contacted the collection agency (CBCS) and bellsouth, neither helped me figure anything out. I put in a dispute online, but that still leaves the account open and my score is now a 525 and the account has been delinquent for almost 7 years now (transferred to collections in 2001). Does anyone know how I can clear this without having to pay the bill? Bellsouth (and most phone companies) only require a social security number to open a line. They do not verify age or anything
Credit report question...? I check my credit report when I can and I have a few questions. Last time I checked, none of my accounts had a last date of payment on them and many had double or triple entries due to collection agencies buying the account. I disputed everything online (15 entries) and got my credit report again today (about 30 days later) and now I only have 5 entries--three have last date of payments and two do not. Midland Credit Management (which I have always fought over debt validation) has nothing noted except for a notation saying "consumer disputes the information". What the heck. I know the company has 30 days to verify the debt but what does that mean?
Identity theft: They changed my address on my credit report? Now I cannot dispute it online and Experian only accepts online disputes. How do I dispute it another way so that Experian's online system does not forbid me from disputing it. I sent out hard copy letters to Equifax and Transunion, but Experian does not accept mail correspondence. How do I change my address back to my rightful address?
credit help! I am trying to raise my credit score but...............? Just need some answers... I have a few old charge-off accounts on my credit report. Two to be exact-Visa, and Macy's. I have since paid the debt to the collection agency-It's been a year and a half, and didn't think to make sure the bad debt was taken off of my credit report. A week ago I disputed the debt online b/c it's showing up negatively on my report though it has been paid. I hear it takes 30 days for this item to be removed... My question is, will the credit bureau's actually remove the item from my report if there has been no response? I know that if I contact these companies they won't give me the time of day.... One more question! I bought a car for 15,000. My loan is now down to 5,000. I have made all payments on time with the exception of 3. This loan is showing negatively on my credit report. is there anything I can do? i don't want to dispute b/c this information is true. Can i ask that the negative marks be removed by wells fargo? THANKS!!!
Credit Report help...? Ok, I got a free credit report on 1/4/2007 from www.annualcreditreport.com. I did not like what I seen so naturally I dispute most of it. I heard that they have 30 days to prove this and if they cant it gets taken off. Well its almost been 30 days, so who do I contact about getting these things taken off?? Also after I done so I read in a book (Gureillacreditrepair) that you should not dispute things online, which is what I done. Any advice as to how to get these stupid charges off my crerdit report? They are mine but from when I was 18, I am now 24 and all of them have been paid already. Its just annoying
Negative credit item reported as verified from one bureau but deleted from another. Can this be fixed? I disputed a negative item on my credit report that should be removed due to 7 year limit. One bureau showed the item should come off in July 2007, but another bureau states it is scheduled to be removed in Nov 2007. I received my results, and am not happy. One bureau removed the item from my report as expected (the one stating July 2007 as the removal date). The other bureau however took 6 days to respond with "Account verified. Scheduled to be removed Nov 2007). How can this be?? I tried redisputing it again claiming one bureau removed it, but I can no longer dispute this item online. Do I have any options to actually have this removed? I fear contacting the original creditor claiming it was removed from bureau #1, but not bureau #2 and have them just re-add it back to bureau #1. Please advise! Thank you in advance.
Anyone entered into a contract online with a company called goantiques.com? Does anyone one if a contract online can be disputed, i did not sign anything just click the box, but the kicker is what i agreed to verball is not what was in the contract and now am being burned for a year contract with goantiques.com. They are hitting my credit card each month and we are in a major dispute, they say they will send me my copy of the contract that shows "I agreed" to it. Can it be fought. And has anyone ever had problems with goantiques.com, i am trying to get others to come forth. I have put postings on boards and seem to be getting the same answers that they are shady.
How to fix this credit report quagmire? I decided to check out my credit report via annualcreditreport.com because I haven't checked my report out in a couple of years. I took a look at Experian and saw "AT T"(I'm assuming it's AT&T) sent a $200 fee to collections in July, The only problem is that I've never had an account with AT&T. I then see that under my information there is an address and phone number listed that isn't mine. I look up my name with the zip code from the report on www.whitepages.com and find someone with my exact name, including middle initial, living about 3 miles from the mystery address listed on my report, it isn't the exact same phone number or address though. I disputed the phone number but when I tried to dispute the address online it wouldn't allow me. Should I call up the collection agency at all? Should I just send in the required paper work disputing the address, phone number, and collection item and hope that they fix it? It seems like someone just mixed up our names, but who knows
Credit Card Info.? today I looked up my checking account balence only to see that somehow I had a debit for $200. I work at the bank so at work I asked a banker and he said that somehow I filled out a credit card application online and it was the secure payment. This was not authorized by me, does anyone know how to go about filing a dispute?? thankkks

reversing credit card transactions? Software co. product did not work for our company. 18 mos. later still payroll & billing not online for us. Then we uncover a another prob. which at that time our service contract needed to be renewed. We did and they never fixed our system, so I canceled with them & called our credit card co. to dispute the $780.00 charge. First they removed it, then they put it back on. Credit card co. is in Maryland, we're in CT. I am furious!! We had to buy a whole different program for our business and now to get stuck with this scam for $780. Credit card co. said since they reversed it back that's all they can do; I want to resolve this - software co. is making out with our $$ and we're getting nothing. What can I do about this?
experian telephone # on credit report? I received my credit report from experian and have to call them about a dispute. The problem is that I did the online look up and there is no telephone number listed I can call and talk to a real person!!! The only info I get is "look on your printed report and call that number" Ha Ha, I would like to do that! So anyone out there who can give me the customer service telephone number from their experian credit report. PLEASE I filed a dispute but found out in the meantime that everything was correct. So I would like to cancel the dispute and have to talk to someone since I can't cancel over the internet.
Overseas travel agency refuses to refund credit card? I booked airline tickets online and didnt realize the travel agency was in the UK. I thought I was getting a great deal and used my brother's credit card to buy what I thought were tickets that cost $1560 US Dollars. Turns out they were charging in pounds not dollars. I contacted the overseas company to try and cancel immediately..within minutes of purchase. I sent numerous emails, and no answer. I called the company, overseas, numberous times, just to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time and then get hung up on. The charge hit the account and charged over $3300 dollars. Finally I was able to get through to someone over there and they informed me that the tickets were non-refundable!! It clearly states on the confirmation letter a phone number to contact in order to modify or cancel this booking. I had my bro contact his credit card number to dispute this. Will they credit his acct or are we a$$ed out of this money? Any help/advise would be helpful.
Is it possible to have items removed from your credit? And what are some good ways to rebuild damaged credit? 3 years ago I broke a bone and, like the smart, responsible guy I am, I wracked up a lot of hospital bills which I neglected to pay. I thought I had paid them all off finally, until the other day I was going through some old papers, and I found a bill for $558. I didn't remember paying it so I got online and checked my free annual credit report, to find that it was listed on the report from Experian.com but not on Equifax.com. That makes 3 negative items on my credit report, 1 of which is paid off, and the other is being disputed.. (Never name your child after yourself, it's just bad news) Basically what I'm getting at is I'm older now and trying to rebuild my credit and this is just another count against me. I'm getting it taken care of right away but it's still going to hurt my nonexistent credit. Is it possible for them to take the item off of my report if I ask nicely or something? I've had a very difficult time building credit because I have no credit to get any. Advice?
How do I dispute? I got some good answers on my previous question. Now, how do I go about disputing old accounts? I have found trying to contact credit reporting agencies to be incredibly frustrating. They tie you up in an automated phone system which goes in circles. I don't believe they are really at all interested in hearing from you if you have accounts to dispute. Trying to get to them online is even worse.
Does anyone know when it is legal to report a late on your credit report.? My situation is this, I made a car payment by phone on 12/02/2007 it was due on the 3rd of November. I checked online to make sure it posted on 12/02/2007 I was not surprised that it had posted on 12/03/2007. My question is do you think this will affect my credit? I would like to dispute the financer if he puts it on my credit. The reason is 1) I made the payment on the 2nd. 2) it was within 30 days. 3) It is not my fault they give me the option to pay on a Sunday. I checked all through my paperwork and online disclosures and I did not find any notations to say any different than what I am thinking. Are there any credit expert lawyer that can help me. P.S. I called the financer and they said it looks like it will be reported What the issue is, is that i am in the middle of purchasing a home and I qaulify for the rate I have by 4 points. My mid credit score is 704 if I drop below I will not qualify for the same type loan and my interest rate will go up.
Is there a way to email "PayPal Buyer Credit" (not PayPal)? I am trying to dispute a charge. This is NOT PayPal, it is an actual credit account. They only list a phone number and address. I can't seem to get a rep by phone which I can clearly understand. I finally got one that I could sort of communicate with and dipsuted it over the phone and disputed the late fee. He said there was nothing else I needed to do. It still showed up online, so I mailed a letter of dispute. It's still listed on line. I prefer to work by email as there is a mutual trail of the communication. Has anyone had to email them? Their web address is www.paypal.geconsumerfinance.com. Thanks!!
Credit Report Date Opened still on Credit Report!? I am trying to raise my credit report. I have an old Dillards account of $1,207.00. Date opened was 05/1996. Says Bal. date of 5/05. It was reported in like 1999. They keep changing the balance date. I went online with the CSC and disputed the Bal. date. Can they keep changing the balance date on me? Do I just need to try to make small payments to them? I have read all types of things on consumer reporting and the credit bureau's but am still confused as to whether the companies can keep changing the balance date so they will stay on your report. Also, I have a tenant tracker that says date opened 05/2001. Balance date says 05/2004/ for $62.00. Do I need to pay that off if they will completed delete it from my CR? Last one is TXU Energy. Date Opened 04/1999 Balance Date 07/2005. Balance amt $690.00 High Limit $692.00. Says Account status as agreed Past due amt. $0 and comments Current Account. Is that good? I also have some less than $100 Collection Bal. Date 04? Should I pay?
reporting for each agency? I have chosen to dispute items on my equifax credit report directly with Equifax using the "Online Dispute". Once these items are fixed, what is the recommended way to remove the bad information from Experian, and TransUnion? Any good or bad information on using the online dispute vs. doing it through snail mail. Seems this way Equifax is sending all the letters for me?
Online vendors and collections? I am curious what recourse an online vendor has for a disputed fee. What can a collection agency do if all the vendor has is your name and email address? The agency can not discuss a third party debt through email, and they can not report to the credit bureaus with just a name.
How do I update my personal info with credit bureaus? I just want to update my phone number. I looked online and called some numbers for transunion and equifax in the phone book, and all I get is a bunch of stuff about free credit reports, fraud alerts and disputes. I need to update my phone number because I put a fraud alert on my file, so I can't apply for credit anywhere without them calling my phone. And what info do I need to include if I mail them?
