Which credit score is usually the highest? I'm not sure if there is an answer to this, but I do remember reading somewhere that there seems to be a trend as to which credit bureau usually "gives" the highest credit score. Of course, I don't know how reliable that source was. Does anyone know if there is a tendency for one score (comparing scores from the 3 bureaus) to be higher than the others? Thanks in advance.
Is this the best way possible to establish the highest credit score? (I have 1 year of making my auto loan payments on time and no previous credit history.) 1) Go to my bank and take out a CD for $2,000 that pays interest. 2)Get a secured loan for $1,000 against the CD and pay it off in a year on time. 3)Take $500 to a different bank and establish a security deposit account to qualify for a secured credit card. 4) Repeat this once more at a third bank. 5) Use both credit cards but never charge more than a maximum balance of 9% of the total credit card limit. 6) Pay the minimum payment on a bi-weekly basis by splitting the payment into half. According to this FICO score estimator my resulting FICO score would be 735-785 in 1 year. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/fico/calc.asp
What is the highest credit score someone can have? The scale that my credit rating shows up on only goes up to 850. Can it be higher?

Any mortgage lenders that use an average or high credit score? My credit score is high - well above 750, while my husband's is below 600. It will be hard for me to qualify for the house I want with just my income, but I've heard that banks are using the middle score of the person with the lowest score. Is this true? Are there any reputable lenders that use the average of the two middle scores, or better yet, the high scores? Is it best to go through a mortgage broker to find the best option? More details - we have about 10% down for a home and I currently own a townhouse. No bankruptcies or anything like that, so no need for a FHA. We're trying to buy a home in the $750-800K range.
What is the highest your credit score needs to be to get a mortgage loan? I have been trying to get my credit straightened out for a month now and I was wondering how close I may be to actually getting a mortgage loan.
is it true if you have pay your balance each month on ur credit you wont get a high credit score? i thought as long as you pay your bablances off each month or make all your payments you will have good credit? but somone told me they want to see you have a balance each month long term and that will give you a higher score because it shows you can pay over time, and if you pay your balances off each month to 0, your score wont be real high because your not managing a balence over time? my credit is 734 what can i do to get a 800 or 850? i have no debt, pay all my balnces each month, and if i have a remaing balabce i pay more than the minumum. but i only had credit for 3 years. so is having credit for a few more years going to make it got to 800? they said the average credit length is 15 years in the u.s. thats not fair if your young, you can only start getting credit when your 18. so i have to wait till im 30 to have a 850?
What is the "best" scenario to go from no credit history to the highest possible credit score? This is what I have been able to come up with so far: (I have 1 year of making my auto loan payments on time.) 1)Take $500 to a bank and establish a security deposit account to obtain a secured credit card. 2) Repeat this at another bank. 3) Use both credit cards but never charge more than a maximum balance of 20% of the total credit card limit. 4) Pay more than the minimum credit card payment on a bi-weekly basis. 5) Go to my bank and take out a CD for $2,000 that pays interest. 6)Get a secured loan for $1,000 against the CD and pay it off in a year on time.

Is my credit score high enough? My fiance and I want to buy a house. He has a high credit score and a full time factory job. I am currently an unemployed, part-time student with $7200 credit card debt from school. We were thinking if I should be put on the mortgage or would the fact that I am unemployed with debt hurt our chances of a loan. My credit score is 730 and my report shows that I've never been late on a payment. The house we want to purchase is in the 75,000 - 90,000 range. He's thinking of putting his brother who is employed with lesser debt, but lesser credit score than mine on the mortgage and I'm wondering which will increase our chances of getting the loan. His brother will be living with us. Thanks so much for you help, Melbel
I used to have a high credit score, How can I raise my score back up again? My Score went from 750 to 350.? So Please does anyone have any advice to help raise my credit score back? How long does it take to get your score high again?

What is a good credit score and how to improve it? Sorry, multiple part question: What is the highest credit score possible and what is the lowest possible? What can you do to improve it? And the myth that using your ATM Debit card as credit can actually improve your credit score, is it true?
I have a higher credit score than my cosigner. But my cosigner has a low score but more history.? I've been trying to get a car loan but i keep getting denied. My credit score is 720 no blemishes. The problem is i have only one year of history and 1 month of loan history. Not enough to get a loan. So I still need a cosigner. But the only person who can cosign for me is my mom who has a credit score of 560. Shes is a homeowner. The only reason her score is low is because of my student loans and a some late payments. No bankruptcys or collections or anything like that. Would it be worth a try to apply for a loan with her as my cosigner, or would they deny it because she is already overextended?

How close to the prime rate will a non-business high credit score customer get for 30,000 dollar loan? Curious what the interest rate would be on a loan of this size. It would be with a nearly perfect credit score.
Are my bills affecting my credit score? We just got our credit scores in the mail because we applied for a home equity line of credit and they have to tell us our scores. Anyhow, my husband's is 10 points higher than mine. We both have the same thing. One credit card in each of our names, the house is in both our names, and our cars are in both our names. However, all utilites, phones, TV, internet, etc. are all in my name. All bills are ALWAYS paid ON TIME and IN FULL and we NEVER carry a balance on our credit cards. If we need to use a card for a purchase, it is ALWAYS PAID IN FULL AND ON TIME. Is the fact that the bills are in my name affecting my credit score? Simply because the number of "accounts" I have open? I can't think of anything else that would be affecting my score. When we got married, my husband's credit score was quite a bit lower than mine, so what happened that he ended up having a higher credit score? And I do have a student loan out that is being paid off, but we have no other debt except for the house and one car.
How soon will my credit score improve after my debt is paid off? I am selling my house (it was an investment property that I am flipping) and using the proceeds to pay off credit card debt that I have incurred while redoing the home. After the house is sold all my cards will be paid off and the only things I will have to make payments on are my car and student loan. I was wondering how long it will take the credit card companies to notify the credit report of their zero balance status? Can I ask the credit card companies to report the paid off status to my credit report immediately? Also should I close most of these cards or close them? How should I decide which credit cards to close and which to keep open to keep a high credit score? ( I have never had a 30 day late on any of my cards) I want to do whatever I can to improve my credit score the most.
Credit Score? Ok, so I was told by a real estate agent to have a friend or somebody with higher credit score to add me onto their credit cards, so that I can benefit from their history, but I just read that The scoring process is different and I won't benefit from their history.. is this true? or how does this work?
credit score? If my husband has a high credit score (around 730) and I have a low credit score (around 590) what kind of mortgage rate will we get?
How do you lower your credit limit without lowering your overall credit score? I have only have one revolving credit card, and I have a very high credit score. Because of this overall score they subsequently increase my credit line, even though I don't ask for or use this revolving line of credit. Question? I have been told if you ask for a credit line decrease they lower your overall credit score? Why? What can you do to minimize a lowered credit score?
Why is my credit score different with each agency? I recently applied for a loan. All 3 agencies gave me a different FICO score, and the difference between the high one and the low one is about 100 points! And how can I get a lender to use my higher credit score instead of one of the lower ones? Oh, by the way, watch the online mortgage companies. They offer you hope, and then try to sock you with a $500 "good faith" deposit request.
Will using a new credit card close to the max mess up my score? Hello All, Sorry about the poorly worded question, I am new at using credit cards. So here's the deal, I recently received a new credit card that has travel rewards and would like to buy something on the card in order to gain a lot of miles right off the bat. The line on the card though is low and buying this item will likely use up 95% of my credit, ex. $1400 out of $1500. My question is if I pay it off right away will will this transaction have any affect on my score? ( I have a really high credit score to begin with and another card with a way higher credit line). Thanks I really appreciate the help!
Building up credit for score? I want to help my girlfriend build credit by buying a car. I have a really high credit score (about 700+)and I was thinking to add my girlfriend to my bank account and then borrow a loan for her to buy car. I want to make sure if i can be the primary account holder and have all the priority to limit her' money use in my account just in case so she doesn't over use it. Could anyone let me know if this is possible to do? Or if you have a better idea please let me know. Please let me know which is the best choice? My girlfriend car is sooo old and broken down recently. I wanted to help her buy a car about 7k, so i thought borrowing loan from bank and having her cosign with my account can also be a good opportunity for her to built her credit score since she doesn't have any. we have been together 1 yr so i think i can trust her with my bank account. Please let me know if it possible or against the law? Or I should help her open a bank account and then borrow a loan for her from her account? Then i can help her pay for the car sometime. Im only afraid she might have a very high interest rate... Please let me know if there any other way to help her. I really want to help my gf because she have dont so much for me.

is it true that to acheive the optimal credit score you must have your liabilities at 37% of the high limit? i have a friend that is a loan broker and he talked to the poeple at Landsfe credit agency and they told him that to get the best credit score you must have a certain amount of outstanding debt. not too much, but not too little. they said the magic number is 37% of your total borrowing power, is this true? for instance if you have a credit card and your credit line is for $1,000, to help get the highest possible credit score you must try to keep your balance at $370. does this make sense? lets say for example that all other variables on your credit report are current and paid on time, by doing this will it help increase your credit score? does anybody really know? i've heard that the formula that calculates the score is so complex that nobody really knows. thank you so much for taking the time to answer this question.
How do high credit limits impact your credit score? I have 3 credit cards (2 MasterCards and 1 retailer card). I pay off my balances monthly and therefore have no debt. One MasterCard has a credit limit of around $18,000 and the other has a limit of $19,000. The retail credit card (which I have only used once) has a limit of $12,000. As stated before, I have a zero balance on all of the cards and pay them off every month. How do these high limits affect my credit score. Currently, I rent and have no desire to buy a house until the market settles some in my area. Any thoughts?
