FICO Score? Hello, My FICO score is 704 and my wife’s is above 800. I had a bankruptcy in 2001 (previous marriage) and have worked very hard to restore my credit. However no matter what I do I can't get my score above 704. My wife and I have separate credit card accounts. I am not listed on any of her accounts except for our cars and our house. If I were to be listed on her credit cards will my FICO score improve? My current credit card debt is $600.00 with a credit line of 15K and hers is about $1500 with total credit line of around 50K Thanks in advance!

fico score vs. creditxpert score from privacy guard? what is the difference between these scores when i check my fico.com they say my fico score based on my equifax credit report is 613. Due to the price of my fico being higher than i can afford i decided to shop around and found my credit keeper.com they pull all three of my reports but they use creditxpert not fico. creditxpert says my scores are experian 667 equifax 615 and transunion 665. Now are those scores very close to my fico scores or are they way different? If they are different does anyone on average (rule of thumb) know if my fico's are higher or lower then creditxpert scores. Am i wasting time and money on creditxpert scores? 22 hours ago - 3 days left to answer.

Fico score, credit score question.? I have a credit card with a $ 3,750 credit limit. If I ask it to be raised to $ 5,000, will this decrease my credit score/FICO Score ? I heard that it might, because I am "applying for credit", and that will lower my credit score. RIght now my FICO score is 750.
My fico score went up 15 points......? My fico score just went up 15 points. This is the reason that it gave: Your FICO score may have gone up because the following factor is not hurting your FICO score as much as before: * You've made heavy use of your available revolving credit. What does this mean? I have two gas cards, a capital one card, a line of credit from Dell (for my computer) and just got a lease from GMAC for my car in March. I pay off all of my credit cards in full every month. Does this mean that USING my credit is making my score go up more than if I didn't use my credit cards very often?
FICO Credit score question? Hi, I checked my FICO credit score and it says its 758. The FICO score chart is 300 the lowest and 850 the highest. What does my 758 score mean? How good is it? In November of 2006 my score was 790 so why did it go down to 758? What could I have done wrong? I was never late on a payment or anything like that. Thank you for your time and any help.

Where to get the most accurate FICO/credit score? Ok I know that there are a ton of different FICO and credit scores out there. Example: I have a service called Identity guard and I get an update credit score every three months from all three credit bureus, I also get a FICO score from Transunion each month from a credit card account I have (its a free service) now the FICO score is about 80 points off from the scores I get from Identity guard why is that? If I want to see my score excatly as a banker etc. would see it if I applied for a loan whats the best route? I plan on appying for a car loan score and I want to know excatly what the bank would see for a credit/FICO score. And also how many different scores are out there? Does each bureau just have one score, or how does that work?
FICO & Credit score... Same thing? Isn't your credit score the same as a FICO score or are they two different scores, also plus score and regular credit scores. What's the difference there? I've tried to look it up and get conflicting info. So if I have all three scores in front of me and EXPERIAN is smack dab in the mid X00 and the other two are the exact same number just under that XOO mark. Which one do I go buy when there is a question that had only room for one number and it says What is your FICO score? I had a investing consultant pull them for me and get me a set of copies but I couldn’t contact him last night when I sat down to read it. I was just wondering because we need to buy a new house and also have to start up his business all over again in this new state, plus I am going to be starting my own business that is completely different. My husband and I need to do the mortgage in his name and the rest in mine in order not to over extend our credit because I have certain things they won’t allow us to figure in as income an it’s a big chunk of change. So I was looking at stated income loans, but now that I have looked at tons of loan sites I see that it will be no problems at all, he can use part of my income as a stated income and I can use part of the funds I get that they wouldn’t include in a regular loan for my stated income. All because my extra finds are a personal agreement to pay off a debt to avoid winding up in jail for embezzlement. THANKS TO ALL !
FICO Score question? Why is it that when I pay down my debts(ie pay off credit cards) my credit score drops and when I make big purchases(ie $1,000 or more) my FICO score goes up? Shouldn't it be the opposite? One month I paid off most of my debts and my score went from 789 to 704 the next month. Then last month I charged $1,500 on my credit card and this month my score jumped back up 40 points. Keep in mind I have montiored my credit and I don't have any negative feedback from creditors. Any ideas??
Trying to improve FICO score. Does it discriminate against credit card debt? I want to buy a house next year so for the time being, I am trying to pay down debts and improve my FICO score. Right now it is at 714. I have $10,000 in credit card debt that carries a 5.99% interest rate on it. I also have recently bought a car and we owe $35,000 on it at a interest rate of 9%. I have $2000 a month left over to pay down debt after paying all bills and putting a little on the side for savings. Common sense tells me that the smartest thing to do would be to add the extra money towards my principal of my car payment since the interest rate is higher than the credit card rate. My goal though to to improve my FICO score as much as possible. In the FICO score calculation, does credit card debts vs. car loan debt matter at all? Will I improve my score more by paying down credit cards or vise versa? Please, no life lessons on debt or other strategies. Just need this answered. Thanks a lot for some of these answers. It is mentioned that anything over 30% hurts your score. Is that 30% figure on a per card basis or overall total credit figures for all cards combined? I have used $10,000 of my $52,724 total credit available for use. SO still pay the credit card first if I am under 30%?
Does FICO score consider all 3 reporting agencies? I have a FICO score and was wondering does this consider information from Quifax, Experian and Transunion in the calculation? The FICO score was provided by Equifax so I was simply wondering if I requested the FICO from the other agencies whether it would match.
fico score worship? why do people worship at the alter of the almighty fico score? why not just save up and pay for things? You dont need a fico score for a house. You can save up for a car in a few months with a decent pay check. if you dont have a decent pay check you dont need to be going into debt anyway. want, want, want. what about manual undwriting? I have heard that with manual underwriting that they dont look at your fico score and you can still get the best interest rate for a house.
What is a FICO score? Is a FICO score just another way of saying your "credit" score? And if that's the case, is it correct to say "My Transunion FICO score is ______"?
Credit Cards Affecting FICO Score? Hello everyone. I am about to purchase my first house and am trying to optimize my FICO score. Currently I have 3 credit cards. One is a Discover Card (I have had since 1999), another is a USAA card (that I've had since 2001) and the 3rd is an MBNA card. The first two I don't ever use anymore and the MBNA card I use for ALL purchases. I have heard some people say that canceling un-used cards can have a positive affect on your FICO score. Another school of thought will say that keeping credit card accounts with a long history, whether you use them or not, will have a greater effect. Just as part of my preface, I ALWAYS pay my FULL balance at the end of each month. My questions: I am wondering if getting rid of my old cards is better than keeping them when it comes to my overall FICO score? If keeping them is better, is it even better to use each one routinely? Also I've heard it can help to get an AMEX card, due to their high qualifying standards and requirements?
FICO score Question.....? Please help me with this, I have been on the phone 2+ hours from person to animated system and no one can help...or speak english. Anyway, my question is this: I recently got my 3 FICO scores and they are less than impressive. I thought the'd be climbing because I have been making more than the monthly payments and making them on time (online automatically). There are 3 different statements that say I have more than one account with delinquent payments and serious delinquency items.... The only items that are on my report are 2 cards that were paid off and closed in 2003 are these the items that are holding down my score??? Can I get these off my report or do I have to let time remove them?
FICO SCORE for New Car - 706? I am trying to get a new 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe. My Fico Score is 706. Is this a good enough score to get approved? I have 12 inquiries that took place last year (2006) and have 5 Accounts Open which have not been opened for more than one year. Will this have an effect on my application?
Need mortgage- FICO score advise? My husband and I are getting ready to apply for a mortgage. I checked our FICO scores. His is 794 - mine is 764. Should we apply together or should he apply by himself since his score is better? Also, I've heard that if I apply for a mortgage with a number of companies over a two week period, it would count as one application. Do you know if it is true or if each application will bring our scores down? Thank you
Help determining my fico score please? I have checked my credit reports, but do not wish to ding my credit by getting a fico score. Is there any way to guess what my score might be through my negative:positive account ratio? I only have one major account on my report that is bad and its a student loan account which is currently being deffered. Everything else is a couple credit card missed payments, but nothing more than 30 days and only then a couple times. I'm trying to buy a house for the first time and am just curious as to what my chances are. Any advice woould be great
Paid off one credit card. FICO Score was 740, went to 699! Please advise to get back UP!!? FICO SCORE 740: 1. First cc at 50% (this cc has highest credit limit, only 4,500.) 2.. Second cc at max.. 3. Third cc at max.. FICO SCORE 699 (the next month): 1. Took out fourth cc to balance transfer one high interest cc above to zero interest cc to pay off cc sooner, all of payment appiled to principal. Thought this was a smart thing to do. 2. So, second cc above now has a zero balance. FICO SCORE drove the next month drastically! HOW DO I RESOLVE THIS QUICKLY? ALL IN GOOD STANDING. PAY DOUBLE THE MIN.. PAY, AND ALWAYS EARLY. Thank you ahead for someone's knowledge & expertis!! Credit card that now has zero balance is oldest credit card of seven years. I did not close account. Income to debt ratio is good. So, this is why I was surprised my score dropped so much when the fourth card was taken out to zero% card to pay off oldest card. This first card was taken out at high interest seven years ago when credit wasn't so good, and they refused to lower interest. Don't know why. But have not closed it though, because it is the oldest one. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND GREAT ADVICE!!
My fico score is 747. How high will it go with having only credit cards? I have three credit cards with the oldest account about 2 years old. I do not need or want a car loan or a mortgage. What is the maximum score I can acheive with just keeping credit cards. Also, will I be considered a high risk since I have no other type of credit obligation? My credit limits are not very high on the accounts that I do have. At what Fico score should I apply for another card to receive a high limit account? I carry hardly any balance on any of my accounts. I use them and pay off the balance at the end of the month just to have a ontime payment history.
my fico score? my fico score is 574 is that bad & how can i inprove that score....thx
My FICO score dropped 40 points this month!!! Whats up with that?!? I have always had EXCELLENT credit. In fact, lately, I have been paying down my debt in full speed. I will easily be debt free in a few months. I have not made any credit inquiries lately, and have never missed a payment in my life. I keep track of my FICO score every month, so was very surpised at the sudden drop. I've checked my credit report in the last few months, but did not notice any erroneous information. Anyway, I am going to be shopping for a mortgage loan soon, so this is really bad timing. Any other suggestions as to why the drop would have been so extreme? I manage my money well, and this score just does not make sense to me at all. I went from 757 to 712 in a month! I can't figure it out.. I still have revolving credit, but have only been using one card. I have $0 balances on the rest. Why am I getting penalized so heavily? I'm not maxed out or near the max on the card, but yes, it is Capital One that I am using.
fico score help?`? where can i check my fico socre for less money? in MYFICO.com it is almost $45. do i really have to pay that much money to check the score?thank u
FICO score of 727? I'm a 23 year old student with a FICO score of 727. Is this high or low for someone my age? I'm planning on buying a house sometime after graduating and I want to know how high it needs to be for such a large purchase.
Does consolidating student loans impact your FICO score? I've got 10 different student loans so my FICO score reflects 10 different installment loans. Would consolidating them into one loan do anything to the FICO score or would it just be a wash since the total amount of debt wouldn't change. My downside is that if I consolidate It will take longer to pay off the loans than if I just leave them alone.... I'm wondering how much my FICO score is being hurt by them. Its currently 762.
Lower My Fico Score..? If I paid off my credit cards, which the total debt is about $5200 plus my $3000 student loan all within 6 months..would that raise my FICO score significantly? I have no late payments or anything in default, so it's not like my credit score is bad..but it's not GREAT either..it's about 686..After that, the only debt I will have left will be my $30,000 student loan. I'm 22 and I'm just trying to lower it so I can look into getting a home with a great rate. OOps..I do want to raise my credit score..not lower it. Also, would reconsolidating the $30,000 help? Should I do that before or after I get the mortgage? ..I am working two jobs..please don't tell me to get a 3rd and my gross salary is $48,000 yearly. Also, I know 686 is pretty good and I've been with my current employers for 2 years +..but with the lenders tightening their guidelines, I just want to go in with a good head on my shoulder.
why did my FICO score rise 100 pts? about 4 months ago my FICO score dropped suddenly from 670 to 570. i think it had to do with my applying for a credit card (just $500 limit)..... even though i had paid off a credit card with $4000 balance. now 4 months later my FICO score went back up to 670 even though the $4000 balance is back and I even applied for another credit card. so what gives?
What FICO score do I need to finance a home purchase 100% (no money down)? My friend just had his loan canceled. He was closing escrow this Friday. The Banks freaked out and raised the bar on loans when they got news of foreclosures going up. I was in college during the housing boom and now I have a lucrative IT job, paying me 6 figures. I have no money to put down on a home but I can afford the monthly payments. What FICO score do I need to qualify for a loan?
What does a 649 fico score mean? I found out my FICO score is 649. The worst thing in my credit report was I missed some payments on a credit card for 3 months about a year ago. Also, I had a lot of open accounts, but I don't really owe much money anymore. So anyway, is a 649 a really bad score and what kind of FICO number should I be trying for?
Does joint account affect FICO score? My wife is homemaker and never worked in US. She has no credit history. If I add her to one of my bank accounts and make it joint, would it establish her credit history? Would it help to grow her FICO score? Does amount of credits (loans), associated with the account affect rate of her FICO score increase?
Is this a good FICO score? I was watching Suzie Orman on Oprah today and she was talking of FICO scores. I went online and got my FICO score. It is 535 - 585. Is that good? What does it mean? P.S. I'm 18. How can I get it corrected? i tried www.annualcreditreport.com and they said they couldnt give me the info via online.
Would it be better for my FICO score to pay down balances over time...? ... as opposed to paying everything off in one sitting? I was just trying out the FICO simulator, and it seems that if I pay off the entire balance at once, my "simulated FICO score" does not increase as much as when I indicate that I will pay "x" amount every month for 3 months (eventually paying off the balances). So.... even if I have enough money to pay everything off at once, would it be better for my FICO score to pay it off over a period of 3-6 months???
Homeloan guy said my score was 650, Is that my FICO score? I applied threw Capital one to get a home loan for the house I have on land contract right now. He said my score was 650 and needed to be 660 to get 100% financing. So would the 650 be my actual FICO score or do they use a different scoring system? I am a member or true credit and it states my score is only 600.....
What caused my FICO score to jump from 732 to 761 within 6 months? I am 23, no mortgages. I didn't get any new loans or close out any old ones. I have no loans out. The only thing that I have do with my credit cards is for large purchases which I pay off almost immediately after they post (I do this for the cash back). I spent/paid off about $2500 on one card. Could just this cause it to jump 29 points? Both scores were from the same company too, Equifax. This is only the 2nd credit report that I have run and added the FICO score on, so I do not know if these fluctuations are normal.
Which is better Fico or the new Vantage Score? I was thinking about purchasing either the Vantage Score or the Fico Score. Some so called experts say the Vantage score is a joke and say do not waste your money. I want others opinion.
What are the demographics of people with a FICO score of over 800? Approximately 1 percent of the U.S. population have a FICO score of over 800. Who are they? What is their average income? When did they obtain a FICO score of 800? Where do they live? How are they employed? Why do only 1 percent of the population have a FICO score over 800.
What effect will student loans have on my FICO score? I have consistently had a FICO score between 720-740. In the past year, I have returned to graduate school. I have taken student loans in the past year in the amount of roughly $30,000. My FICO has now dropped to ~670. Can students loans have this kind of effect on FICO score? Is there any way I can minimize the effect of future student loans on my FICO? Does having student loans affect FICO better or worse than carrying debt on credit cards?
