How to boost credit score to obtain mortgage? My husband would like to buy a house in the next few months to a year. He has 1-car payment two credit cards. 1 card is a corporate card so it almost always has a 0 balance (and can’t be used for anything except work). The other card, has a $300 limit and it’s currently maxed out. I know that we should keep the balance at 30% of the limit but aside from that what are some good ways we can boost his credit score quickly? He had problems when he was younger paying bills. :P He's doing fine with that now but his credit is in the low 600's. I'm working hard to pay all the bills off & on time. Would another line of credit help? We both make really good money and we can totally pay for a mortgage. We live in Texas and homes are cheap here. We can buy a house for $70,000.
How do I boost my credit score? My score is already very good (>700), will getting more credit cards or increasing my limits on my current cards help? I pay all my bills on time. I want to boost my score so I get better credit cards with lower APRs.

Would adding a utility bill to a credit report help boost the score? I was wondering, if I add a utility bill such as water or gas to a credit report if it will boost a credit score assuming the payment history was prefect. I got some answers that did not answer my question either way, so let me add this. If I go out of my way to add a utility as a tradeline to my credit report (as in adding my car insurance payment or a gas bill to my equifax score), would this impact my score?
I have been cleaning up my credit report, I plan to buy a car in 3-4 months any tips to boost my credit score? I got in over my head when I was 18 and some of my accounts went to collections. A few of the accounts are dropping off of my report over the next few months and others I am paying and getting taken off of my report through validation and settlement. I feel that I have learned my lesson from my actions through a lot of research I feel that I have a much better knowledge of the credit system and how to balance my finances. Just recently I opened a few credit card accounts to rebuild my credit. I have kept the balances under 40% and paid them on time every month. This has helped boost my score a bit. I expect that the old accounts dropping off of my credit report and others being paid will help as well. In September I am planning to purchase a car. I have saved up a sizable down payment, $5k but by then I will have $8k. I am putting down 5-6k and then paying down the loan by 2-3k. Any suggestions ideas to help me increase my credit score? Car buying advice? My score is currently 550
Does getting records deleted instantly boost credit score? I have some things on my report that have been there for awhile. I havent paid on any of them. I know this is somewhat of a leverage if I want to call the creditors and make an agreement to pay in full in exchange for deleting the record. When they do this does it remove all traces of the negative account from the credit reports? Also, will this instantly boost the credit once that record is deleted? Just to add a little more. All the negative things are from collection agencies. There isnt anything from the original creditors.
How long should it take to boost credit score? I had problems a few years ago that lowered my credit score. The past two and a half years I have been faithful to pay on time every time. When should I see an increase in my score. I have never had repos or charge offs. My score isnt going up as quickly as I thought it would.
Who do I go to to help me boost credit score? We are looking to sell then buy a home in the next year. We would like to get our score up as much as possible as we are hovering around 620. We will be moving for a new job so we want to get the score up as much as possible to offset that "negative". So, who would we meet with to help us make a plan to get our score higher? A mortgage broker? Directly with a mortgage lender? Credit counselor? I was told by our last mortgage lender that we fall in the subprime market so getting a loan is next to impossible right now. We are very worried but we have to move and we really do not want to rent or anything- we have to get another house. Any help is appreciated.

Trying to boost my credit score before buying a home? I'm trying to find a way to boost my credit score. My question is that I have two credit cards (bank credit card and a department store card), and they both don't have any balances on them. I was thinking of charging at least 30% of my balance on both cards, let my credit report pick them up with balance and immediately pay them off so that the follow month it will show that I'm paying them on time. What do you all think?
Credit Cards....best method of buying/paying off to boost credit score? Buying House question too!? Is there is better way than another to pay a credit card so it'll show on your credit better. Like to carry a balance, and pay interest......or charge something every month and fully pay it off right after you buy it.........(always never missing a payment, always on time, blah blah blah).Any better methods.......just trying to rebuild credit after bankruptcy 2 years ago. I have nothing on my credit except a carnote that has been paid on time faithfully for 2 years straight, and that's it........... any other methods of advice. And roughly how long after a bankruptcy can I be on a loan to buy a house.....fiance and I are looking to buy a house after we get married, and he thinks my credit wont be good enough to be on the loan!
What is the best way to boost my credit score? I have poor credit and filed for bankruptcy late last year. I have not really tried to rebuild my credit. I have not applied for any credit nor tried to finance a new car - though tempting. How can I boost my credit score legally?
credit score boost? what's the best way to remove items from a credit report besides the conventional methods of using credit repair companies? there's a bunch of crap on my report that's keeping me down. i'm open for anything, but it has to work. i've tried writing letters, but that doesn't work. has anyone used anything out there to help your credit score when it really sucked? thanks
I just cosigned a car loan with my fiance and wondered if that will give any type of boost to my credit score? We are both young professionals and he makes enough to not worry about missing a payment. I have a 740 now and I believe he has 720. What he lacks however, is an Equifax score since he doesn't have any credit cards. He already had a car loan before this one that he paid off in 3 months. His father cosigned for that one. But yet he didn't have a credit history to get the 20,000 car loan. I however, have had a credit card since 17. I also a car loan under my belt worth $15,000 (no cosigning woo hoo). So should my score get boosted any more than it is? Or would it stay about the same?
What are the fastest ways to boost ones credit score? Basically I'm a dummy and it took a lot to get a loan for the car I got buT I was told I could refinance and somehow leave the instituion who gave me the loan and go to another bank for a lower interest rate right but my credit score is so low, I want a better score so I don't have to pay as much, how do I do that? Will a 2nd credit card boost my credit score? I'm 19 years old and I have one credit card that I have had for a year now. My credit it pretty good but I want to improve it anyway. Can purchases and payments to a business card in my name be used to boost my personal credit score? Basically, I've been approved for a business card in my name with a $14K line of credit, but since I can fit all of my business expenses on my personal cards without using more than 50% of my personal line, I'm wondering whether it wouldn't be smarter to keep using my personal cards and paying them off on time to boost my personal credit. Does the usage and payment of business cards help boost my personal credit?
