Dispute credit report? If I do dispute two enteries on my credit report for the same credit card company and they do validate it, will the statue of limitations start over??
Need Help To Dispute Credit Report? Situation: I went to a college in NYC in 2002. I enrolled in September, left by October. I had gotten a loan from Bank of America for part of my tuition. When I left the college I cancelled the loan, therefore the school never got the money. However, the school wants the 14K even though I wasn't even there for a semester. When I dropped out the only thing I ever signed was a Withdrawl Form which has nothing regarding being responsible if I left, etc. Is there any way of putting the burden on the college to prove that I do have to pay and dispute this in my credit report, etc? And since this is a debt owed to an institution, not a student loan, etc...Is there any Statute of Limitations? Also note that I have not heard from the collection agency in years. On my credit report it states that the Date of 1st Delinquency was 09/2002. However, I was attending school in 09/2002 and didn't leave till 10/09/2002. Does that make sense?
Can you dispute Credit Report inquiries? Someone just asked me this and I didn't know the answer. So I am hoping someone else does. Credit disputes/credit "repair" normally works best on older accounts because it is more difficult for the information to be verified. Inquiries only stay on your report for two years, which really doesn't meet this critereon. Has anyone had success removing these?
Will filing a credit report dispute make the debt go away? I have a collection agency after me for a debt. If I dispute the debt and the credit reporting agency does not get a validation, I know they will remove it from my credit report, but will the collection agency have to write it off as well?
Credit dispute letter...Do I have to send a letter with a copy of my credit report for each item to dispute? I'm currently disputing a few negativie items on my credit report. My question is this: Do i have to send one letter for "each" negative item dispute along with a copy of my credit report, even if I disputing the items with the same credit bureau? Because if that is the case, I would have to print alot since credit reports contains many pages. Or, can I just simply "list" all the negative items that I'm disputing, in one letter with one copy of my credit report (with highlighted dispute items)?
Account Dispute on Credit Report? I recently disputed an account on my credit report. I was wondering if my credit score will decrease because of the dispute. There also has not been any activity on the account in over 6 months. This is an account I paid off but it was still showing that I had a balance. Advice would be appreciated.
Should I dispute my credit report? I recently checked my credit report and noticed that (on all three), my boss' business account is listed on which I am an authorized user. The reports list it as carrying a balance of $5000, and my boss' home address is even listed as one of my previous addresses (which is obviously not accurate). However, I never saw an application, never see a statement, and have no control over making payments or adding charges. Should I dispute this account being listed on my report and affecting my credit rating?

Should I pay on old item on my credit report or dispute it? I have a new item on my credit report from Calvary Portfolio services for 57 dollars from Sprint. I have not been a Sprint customer for over 4 years. Should I pay this 57 dollars or should I try to dispute it? What are my chances with this dispute? Is the fact that its such a small number make it more likely that it will just be dropped? I find it ridiculous that such a small figure is ruining my score. I was a Sprint customer at one point and my guess is that this was the last bill after switching from Sprint to Cingular that I didn't realize they were still charging me for, but I had no information about it until I checked on my credit a few weeks ago.
dispute letter for credit report errors? My husband and I recently obtained our credit reports. Much to our dismay, there are several accounts on his report that are either errors or were charged by his ex-wife without his knowledge. I need to know if anyone has a good dispute letter or a link to a site that provides a draft that will get some results. We are not sure how much damage she has done since she had access to his social security number and other personal information. Has anyone ever had success with disputing these sort of things? Thanks for the help!

Do I have to send my entire credit report to dispute? I know we should send a credit report while disputing something from the bureaus but do we have to send the entire report. I have a 16 page report !! LOL yes 16 pages and want to know if I should just copy the page that contains the incorrect information or copy the entire report. Please note, I’m asking this because through my experience credit bureaus love to prolong the process by stating there isn't enough information and I need to submit additional documents. Sorry, but please answer if you're certain of the answer :-) Thanks in advance!
Credit report dispute? Can you dispute a contract opened by a minor? My younger sister opened an account with t mobile (and on the agreement it said you have to be 18 years of age and she checked the box, shes only 16, almost 17) And now she ran up a bill and its in collection. Can this be disputed since they opened a contract with a minor? Sure she checked the box to say she was 18 or over, but to open the account they asked for her SSN, so shouldnt they have known?
Dispute item on credit report? I disputed an item on www.freecreditreport.com and its not off my credit report yet, what do i need to do to get it off?

Should I dispute everything on my credit report? My husband's family has told us that if he disputes everything on his credit report, those companies that don't write back within 30 days don't have to be paid. It seems like a good idea at first but how tedious is it to dispute all items? He has about 8-10 companies that he owes money to. Does this really work?
How can I dispute negative items reported by Campus Partners to my credit report about a student loan? I have been unable to get anyone on the phone at the Campus Partners via the number they give at 800-344-8609 and cannot seem to find the right directory for filing disputes in their automated response system. I have already initiated a dispute via Experian's credit expert. Please help me find out how to get a live person on the phone with Campus Partners. I've also already tried pressing 0 and # and * all the usual keys that indicate "operator" in similar systems. One issue I am having is getting a live person on the phone. I have no idea how to get a live person from Campus Partners on the phone. Their automated response system will not let me get to an operator or any person. As a result I cannot ask them any questions or collect necessary information to file a complaint with the BBB.
How can I remove a public record dispute off my credit report? I lived in these apartments back in 2002 and I lost my job and I got behind on my rent. We were scheduled to go to court for my eviction but on the day of hearing I paid my rent and all late charges. I even lived in the apartment for another 8 months. I got a copy of my credit report the other day and it says that I owe the apartment company $242 and it shows up as a public record debt in my credit history. How can I get that removed? Help!!!
should i pay someone to dispute items on my credit report to repair my bad credit? I am about to graduate from college and I would really like to improve my horrible credit score (541), all of which come from charged off credit cards when I first started college :-( A friend of mine found this guy who she says repaired her credit for about $500 by disputing negative items on her report and getting them removed, which made it alot easier for her to get a new car, and soon she will by buying a house. Should I go to this guy?? Does that stuff really work?? I would like to do it myself, but I wouldn't even know where to start and I would not have the time, especially with work and school... Most of the items on my report are 2-3 years old... I need advice!! Please help me improve from a 541...
Is there anyway to dispute derogatory items on my credit report? When I lived in Florida I tried to get DSL in my apt. I contacted Verizon to get eveything set up and they mailed me everything. I found out that the phone jack in my place was not wired at all, so I called them to cancel it. A little over a year later, a collections agency contacted my parents looking for me. I contacted them and found out what the issue was. Apparently Verizon had charged my for the little time I had the modem and service. Once I found out about the charge I immediately paid it. A couple of weeks later my credit score drops 100 pts. After a year they finally put 2 derogatory items on my report. Is there anyway to dispute this and get it off of my report. It took them a year to contact me and when they did, it only took me a few minutes to get it paid. The rest of my report is spotless, does this not count for anything?
How do I dispute hospital charges on a credit report that were sent to the wrong insurance company? My wife was treated on an outpatient basis at a local hospital in 2005. The hospital did not have her current insurance or contact information, so the bill was sent to neither us nor our insurance company. The hospital then submitted the bill to a collection agency with the outdated contact information. Thus, we were entirely unaware of the existence of these charges until we checked my wife's credit report this February. I believe that my wife either gave the hospital current information, which they failed to record, or that they did not ask her. Can we have the hospital recover this charge from the collection agency and re-submit it to our insurance company? Also, do we have valid grounds to dispute the charge with the credit reporting agency?
How do you dispute something on your credit report? Here's some background. I have a credit card and a vehicle loan. both of which i pay extra for some kind of protection plan in the event of unemployment, death etc. well, a time came when i was unemployed and lated on some payments (60 days for the credit card and 30 days for the vehicle loan). Of course that went on my credit report. I'm currently paying on both of these (both are up-to-date) but the late payments are showing on my credit report. how do i go about changing that to "never late"? wasn't the credit protection i'm paying extra for suppose to cover that?! The plans were offered from the company that both the credit card and the loan came from. I was unemployed when i got out of the army but i started school so i used my GI bill to pay bills. when i graduated, i couldn't find a job for a while
will it affect your credit report if you dispute&refuse a bill and biller only have your address and not SSN? You are changed a bill, you don't think that the bill is reasonable and refuse to pay. You didn't sign anything. The biller has your address, but not your social security number. The biller may send it to collection agency (the amount is only $50, so it's unlikely that it will be sent to collection agency). Can the collection agency report the case to credit report companies (without your SSN) so that it may damage your credit history?
How do you dispute something on your credit report? There are a few items which have been reaged by a collections agency and they cannot do that. The SOL has passed and they should be removed from my credit report. Also, when you view your credit report where is the "date of last activity"? All I see is the open date and last reported date. The last reported date can't possibly be the date to go by because then the companies can stay on your credit report forever. I have never had problems about stuff dropping off before but Capital One refuses to drop off and the three different collection agencies (for one card mind you) keep reporting a new date opened. This is ridiculous. How can I get them off? It has been 8 years now and they are still on there.
Can I Dispute this Item on my Credit Report? and Will it be removed? I have a charged off account Current Status:CHARGE-OFF Account Owner:Individual Account High Credit:$0 Type of Account :Open Credit Limit:$0 Term Duration: Terms Frequency: Date Opened:02/2006 Balance:$0 Date Reported:04/2007 Amount Past Due:$0 Date of Last Payment:08/2006 Actual Payment Amount:$0 Scheduled Payment Amount:$0 Date of Last Activity:02/2006 Date Major Delinquency First Reported:08/2006 Months Reviewed:1 Creditor Classification: Activity Description:n/a Charge Off Amount:$0 Deferred Payment Start Date: Balloon Payment Amount:$0 Balloon Payment Date: Date Closed: Type of Loan:Utility Company Comments:Charged off account Does all of that look correct or should I Dispute something about it Was wondering most about it being reported in April of 2007 when it was paid about a month after it was reported delinquent February 2006 - July 2006 is Payed as agreed August and Sept 2006 is Charge Off October 2006 -March 2007 Payed as agreed
How do I dispute a negative statement on my credit report? I'm in the U.S. Army. Shortly after filing my indiana states taxes for 2005 I deployed to Afghanistan. I apparently owed the state revenue service around $40. I am pretty sure I acknowledged this before I deployed but I guess it slipped my mind. Apparently the revenue service tried to get a hold of me (which they obviously weren't able to) regarding the situation. Eventually, a sheriff was sent to the address listed on my Indiana state driver's license and the state revenue service reported a no payment tax lien on my credit report. All in all, the state got their crummy 40 bucks but I have the negative hit on my credit report. I was turned down for a car loan because of it. Am I able to dispute this? If this had been under normal circumstances I would have been on top of things and this thing would have gotten paid before anything bad happed.
