  1. no. They are scamming you. Avoid them.
  2. why is it that everytime you borrow money, they tell you how easy the payments are? the credit industry is a bunch of snakes, get used to it..
  3. if you find out let me know
  4. Frustrating aren't they..I agree. The only way to view your credit report for free is to call up the credit reporting agencies and ask them to mail it to you. Or go on to their websites and fill out the proper forms. Super easy. If you have been denied credit, then your report will be given to you free in order for you to take a look to make sure that all is correct.
  5. Because they are scamming you. Here's what you should know: The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months. You can order your free annual credit report online at annualcreditreport.com, by calling 1-877-322-8228, or by completing the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mailing it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. When you order, you need to provide your name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth. To verify your identity, you may need to provide some information that only you would know, like the amount of your monthly mortgage payment.
  6. For the most part, it is free for the first 30 days. The have to cancel the program before the 30 day mark or you will get charged. If you get declined for credit, you can get your credit report that way or go to www.annualcreditreport.com
  7. I have found the same experience you describe to be very funny. Actually, for these credit reporting companies, $1.00 or slightly more is free, that's why they say it's a free report. I haven't found a service that offers a free report yet on the web, and just now I realized from the answers above that the government offers an annual free report, so check out those links above.
