has anyone out here been ripped off by?
The College Prep Center in La Mesa, Ca. with the offer of a 30 day free trial disk that guarantees high ACT, SAT scores? I think I have, they so called needed my credit card info to secure the disk after the 30 day trial. I asked them if the money would get taken out before the 30 day and all they told me was "your card would be reserved as a motel would" which means that no money would come out until my stay or no-show Right??? Well, they took the money, I have no disk and they wont refund. I contacted the BBB, and the San Diego News stations. Have u been scamed by these people, if so did u get your money back and how do I need to go about it. I've called, and I get mad and they hang up on me. It was a Bank Debit Card and I did call the Bank and they said it was an ATM charge and could not reverse the charge.

- Call your credit card company and try disputing the charge that way. Good luck....
- Any time you call to get a free trial and they ask for a credit card.. you should hang up immediately. Call the credit card company and dispute the charges. Then continue to call the company. Call and pretend to be a Lawyer, say that you have 10 clients who have retained you and so on. Tell them that you will sue and see what happens. Did you hear the add on the radio station? Call them and let them know what they are advertising. Let it be known that you are not happy.
- Just tell the bank that it was fraud and you are disputing the charge and they have to investigate the matter, insist on speaking to a supervisor if necessary.
- Go to ripoffreport.com (the Bad Business Bureau) and search under their name.
- This company already has numerous comlaints at the BBB and www.ripoffreport.com. Next time you call them, make sure you go directly to the top. Try to speak directly to David Cantero who is the contact person listed at BBB and on the domain registry for thecollegeprepcenter.com. Also try to get Michael Turko at KUSI news to take on this story. He is good at taking a news camera directly to the business or to the person's home. See links below.
