Pulling up your credit score number?
I am trying to clean up my credit before an my ARM occurs. You are allowed to my notations to your credit, does this help? Would you advise doing it yourself or find a credit counselor to assist (if you can find a reputable one) Can anyone reccommend a reputable one? I am not in a position to pay off any debts, what is the best way to go about this. They are not credit card related, don't have credit card debt.

- Number 1 do not attempt to go through credit counselors, because it will affect you identically like a chapter 13 bankruptcy. You may consider a credit repair company, where they dispute negative items on your credit ex. collection accts ect. There is a up front cost of est. $150 then fees up to 900 depending on how many you tradelines they may have to dispute. Also, this may take up to 2-6 months. If you are not able to pay this cost, there are mortgage brokers such as myself that are able to put this fee into your closing cost through your refinance.
- CCC is a good one. Don't know the costs, but I think it is relatively inexpensive. Supposedly non-profit. You can clean up your own credit by disputing directly with the credit bureau(s) My son once used CCC and has no problems now. Often you don't have to pay the interest on your loans, just the principal. Check it out.
- Usually companies charge hundreds of dollars to simply pull your credit and send correctly worded dispute letters—this is the key…..people will tell you that you can do this yourself for free but the truth of the matter is that the credit bureaus will throw your letters away or simply reject them. There is an easy to use online kit that will deliver the results you want available for just $19.95 at the source website. A similar kit is being sold via infomercials and radio talk shows for seventy dollars more but they try to solicit you repeatedly for other services after the fact.
