help with credit score

free credit scores

Is there a TRUE FREE website to get credit score? Not a site that is "free" after giving credit card number.

  1. You can get a truly free credit report because the FACTAct requires the credit bureaus to give it to you. annualcreditreport.com is the right place to go. However, the credit score is a product owned by a third party vendor, and they don't give that away. There is no law requiring them to do so, therefore, the credit bureaus try to upsell you on this product to make up for giving you the free credit report. You don't really need your credit score. You can review your credit report and determine if it's accurate. If it is, and there is no negative history, and a fairly lengthy credit history, you have a good credit score.
  2. This one is free and established by Congress: http://www.annualcreditreport.com This one is not free and requires a BS subscription: http://www.freecreditreport.com I recommend using the first option. The report is free, and the credit score is only $5-8.
  3. Vist www.freecreditreport.com. I've used that site twice by far. When you register you have to enter credit card information but you're only charged AFTER 30 days-if you decide you want to keep their services. At freecreditreport.com you automatically get a free 30 day trial. So enter your info, get your credit and fico score then call the 800 # listed on your documents to cancel your account. And voila. Nothing is free in America but there's an exception to every rule :) Good Luck
  4. You can not get a free credit score. You can get a free credit report from http://www.annualcreditreport.com but the credit score is not included.
  5. You are entitled to a free credit report every year at Annualcreditreport.com, here you wont get yor credit score but you will get what is listed on your credit report and if there is any inaccurate info you may dispute it. i always view my credit report and score thru freecreditreport.com if its your first time you have a 30 day free trial and it does require a credit card info and thats just in the event you do not cancel they charge your account for the next month but you have 30 days to cancel. Even if you decide to cancel the morning of the cancellaton date they will still allow you to look at your CR for 1-2 days after canceling it. it is not a scam just because they ask for your credit card info you just have to make sure to cancel before 30 days if not yes you will be charged but you should alsways try annualcreditreport.com first.
  6. easiest way to get your fico score is go to a mortgage broker and tell them you want to get prequalified. if you call they wont even take a full app.....then ask them to run your credit to see if it's worth running the app.....then ask what your score is and they can run it right at the same moment....wahlah...then say you have to call them back.
