Credit score dispute question?
I heard there was a way to dispute things on your credit report. First, tell me if I have grounds to do so. And if so, how do I do it. I have a sears card that had a balance that I knew the exact ammount by calling and asking. I transfered this to a different card in full. But apparently there were finance charges which hadn't been added yet, and they added them after, in the ammount of around $10. I then got reported as 30days late, and credit score dropped by almost 90 points on the 830 scale. I am willing to pay this, and I actually worked at sears and remember this happening to a customer, and one of our managers called some credit number and had it taken off the guys credit report.

- call and speak to a manager. I am sure they can help you with that. if not look up creditattourneys.com.
- You can dispute anything on your credit report. I agree with the above poster see if you can get sears to write you a letter, that would be ideal. Otherwise you can dispute it directly. Good Luck. - In addition to what is being said with the above 2, call sears and let them know you are goin to dispute it and go ahead and pay it. Since your score is so high, you really need to keep this on your report, just use the three agencies listed above and dispue it as never late and in comments put "please keep the account, but remove the 30 days late". I forgot which agency, but one has a huge list of items to choose when disputing. But first let sears know you are going to dispute it and have them make a note to not fight it when you pay them off. Double check by calling back in an hour and see if the note was added by talking to someone else. And remember, if it doesn't come off within 30 days, try, try again. Hope this helps.
