My credit card bill was a few days late this month. Will this affect my credit rating/score?

I've heard somewhere that the bill must be 30 days late to matter. Also, does it matter that the credit card is through my bank?

  1. nah. although they can, they usually don't report until after 60 days go ahead and pay it as you agreed. I don't mean to imply that this should be taken lightly, but if this is a rare event, your credit is unlikely to be in any jeopardy.
  2. Best thing to do is call the credit card company and explain things to them on the phone. Most of the time they are willing to over see things just to keep you as a customer
  3. Creditors will not report you delinquent unless you are 31 days past due.
  4. No, that's not going to do anything - You're right - it has to be 30 days late to affact your credit score. Below is a good website that gives you lots of information about your credit score.
  5. No, it should not matter. They dont report for 45 days to 60 days. How to Manage Your Credit Card Debt? http://www.askaquery.com/Answers/qn1579.html
  6. Having worked in Credit and Collections for over 10 years, my computer would report you as delinquent from 1 to 29 days. The bureaus, however, did not always sweep our computers then you would show up as an "X" on your bureau. One or two "2" in a mass of "1's" will not affect your credit.
  7. Doesnt matter... unless its 30 days late they wont report it.
  8. Credit companies usually report accounts that are delinquent 30 days and beyond. What they will do, is charge you an outrageous late fee, and if you continue to be late, jack up your interest rate as well, so pay on time from now on!
