  1. You can get your credit report for free if you have not received one this year. Your entitled to a free credit report every year. But, usually you have to pay for your credit score it's about 6 dollars. Just go straight to the reporting agencies site. Experion and Transunion and Equifax.
  2. Plenty of places around. You can get it from any of the 3 major reporting services by requesting it once a year for free. I would bet that you have looked at the FreeCreditReport.com site that does all the advertsing on TV. The first is free but you have to sign up and agree to be charged on your credit card if you don't cancel.
  3. AnnualCreditReport.com is the place to get your free annual credit reports from all three credit bureaus. The report is free but you have to pay for the score -- $6 to $8. All other sites require you to sign up for monitoring services. Some like FreeCreditReport.com make it very difficult to cancel before the 30 day trial period ends. You should also make sure you are getting your FICO and not score based on the credit bureas calculations. If you just want your FICO to to MyFICO.com. There is a charge.
  4. bdancer is correct on this one.
  5. You can get a free credit report once a year at AnnualCreditReport, but you will have to pay for a credit score whether you go through them or someone else. If you have to know your credit score, I would recommend MyFico. That is the score that banks would look at if you need a loan. The score from the individual credit reporting agencies are not always accurate because they could have some of your information wrong. MyFico takes the average of those scores.
