- You have a credit history just an empty one. You want to make sure you call all of the credit places and have them remove the false credit cards so if you try to get one in the future you will not have a problem.
- Well since your identity was stolen, there is a good chance that you have bad credit. Damn the automated phones. If you can't get through, your bank can help you out.
- I'm sorry about your situation, about your credit history i don't think it was affected by those people since if they only used your number they need names, etc, etc. It's not that easy to do that kind of stuff, someone should've told you that when you called equifax, since if you didn't do anything to ruin your credit it shouldn't be affected. Now the solution: Try to see if you can get a "secured" credit card, what this is, you ca put $500 and then your credit limit will be for $500, after 6 months they will give you that money back to you and extend your credit limit, make sure you pay that bill EVERY MONTH, and (only if you can) pay it in full. Hope this helps your situation and good luck!
- When calling the automated system, if you need to talk to a live person, press 0 then someone will be on the phone. Although the prompt didn't say that but wait for a second if you don't put in any info, it will ask you to stay on line and a rep. will help you.
