credit dispute?
I'm getting ready to sent in a credit dispute and was wondering what inaccuracies can you report? Such as wrong open dates, the original creditor is no longer in business and is closed, amount? And what if you don't have any copies of original debt to send to the credit bureaus? My question is what will justify the CRAs to investigate the negative item on my credit report and get it removed, and what keeps the collector from re-inserting the item back on the credit report if it is removed?

- You can dispute anything on your credit report and it is the creditors duty to produce evidence to validate the debt. I disputed everything on my credit report and had 9 items removed. This inturn increased my credit rating, my score jumped over 100 points. By federal law if creditors can't validate a debt the cannot resumbit it on you credit report. Usually creditors sell a debt to a collection agency which usually doesn't have a valid proof that the debt is legitimate. Collection agencies use scare tactics to try and get you to pay a % of the debt. Depending on the amount of the debt there is a very small chance that they will ever sue you.
