Credit Issues/Dispute Letters?
I would like to better my poor credit rating, someone suggested I write dispute letters to the 3 major credit bureaus however I honestly cannot dispute the fact that I do owe these debts but many of the items on my credit report are over seven years old and appear to have been sold to new debt collectors and re-submitted. Would dispute letters benefit me in anyway and if so how would I word such letters to work in my favor? THANKS:):):):)

- I suggest you to pay all your debts and then send dispute letters to credit bureaus. Or I was looking for that in the past and found that site, it was in my bookmarks: http://www.lexingtonlaw.com/credit-repair/ I did not tried them but might help.
- This is one I've used: Send to all three reporting agencies. Your Name 123 Your Street Address Your City, ST 01234 The Credit Bureau Bureau Address Anytown, State 56789 Date Dear Credit Bureau, This letter is a formal complaint that you are reporting inaccurate credit information. I am very distressed that you have included the below information in my credit profile due to its damaging effects on my good credit standing. As you are no doubt aware, credit reporting laws ensure that bureaus report only accurate credit information. No doubt the inclusion of this inaccurate information is a mistake on either your or the reporting creditor's part. Because of the mistakes on my credit report, I have been wrongfully denied credit recently for a <insert credit type for which you were denied here>, which was highly embarrassing and has negatively impacted my lifestyle. optional With the proof I'm attaching to this letter, I'm sure you'll agree it needs to be removed ASAP. The following information therefore needs to be verified and deleted from the report as soon as possible: CREDITOR AGENCY, acct. 123-34567-ABC Please delete the above information as quickly as possible. Sincerely, your signature Your Name SSN# 123-45-6789 Attachment included.
- On my answers profile there is a link that can help you with letters of dispute. Best of luck,
- Go to: www.annualcreditreport.com, its free. Sign up to get all 3 credit reports. you can send disputes on that site. it was so simple for me.
- Writing a dispute letter is one of the best steps you can take in improving your credit score. What the credit bureaus don't tell you is that they have a certain time frame to reverify any item on your credit report you dispute. Regardless of whether the information is true or not, if it can't be reverified it must be deleted off your credit report. in cases of items 1 to 2 years or more old the reverification process becomes much more difficult. many credit repair companies exploit this situation as well as errors made by computer operators of credit bureaus. the best dispute letter i've seen and used effectively myself is at: http://bdcd.blogspot.com/
