Pay Collections items on my credit report.?
If I pay the collection item on my credit report can I then enter a dispute w/ transunion to have it removed since now it's paid and the credit report wouldn't be accurate. I see you can hire a law firm called Lexington Law can an attorney have a collection item removed if I pay it. Or even one of those credit repaire companies.

- No, you cannot. You can only dispute it if it was wrong in the first place. Since it's in collections and you are paying it, it is still correct. It will show on your credit report as a paid item, which is a whole lot better than it showing as an unpaid item. The credit report will still be accurate even after you pay it off but it should show as paid after that.
- You can dispute any account you feel is inaccurate and it will be removed if it is inaccurate. Listen, if you want to learn how to repair your credit score then visit: http://www.thecreditrepairmanual.com
- Yes you can dispute it. After you pay it, you send a copy of the cancelled check and a cover letter, advising that the bill was paid to all the credit bureaus, asking them to delete and modify your credit score accordingly. Faye H you are incorrect in advising that it has to stay on the credit report.
