  1. It's pretty good. The total number possible is 800. You must keep paying bills on time (including parking tickets!). If you get more credit (like more credit cards or line of credit form a bank or home loan) and pay on time, that will increase your score.
  2. The higher, the better. You're in the "fair range" keep paying your bills on time, and it's eventually be in 660's to 700's
  3. 630 is not very good! Upper 600's and above is pretty good. Always pay bills on time, keep low or no balances on credit cards - but keep credit cards open!
  4. It's fair. If you keep paying your credit cards, on time, each month, your score could jump from a range of 670-720. This is if you don't accrue more debt. The more you pay down your credit cards, the better your debt ratio becomes, making your score go up. If you have a car loan, student loan or mortgage, they are a good non-revolving line of credit. You want a good mix of credit lines to show up on a credit report for a new loan since it shows the broad range of what you pay and how well you pay your debt. For a good interest rate on a loan or credit card, you would want a credit score of 700 or higher with no deliquencies on your report. Hope this helps!
  5. FICO scores range from 300-850. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fico_score#Range_of_scores 620 isn't terrible, but it isn't real good either. The best way to make it better is to pay all of your debt on time every month. If you have any bad debt, get it caught up. Eventually your score will go up. http://www.myfico.com/
  6. The first thing you need to do is get your annual free credit report which are entitled too under the FCRA from each of 3 major credit agencies (transunion, equifax, experian) and find out why it is 620-630. That is the bare min for obtaining a conventional home loan. The score drives the interest rate and down payments when it comes to car loans and such. The best course of action for you to help you get your credit scores improved is get there reports. Making the scores better might be as simple as getting an erroneous account removed but you wont know for until you review them. Other actions that can improve the scores is keeping your balance to high credit limit at about 50% (limit of 5000, balance of 2500 = 50%) also, dont close accounts you really dont use often just pay it off and put in a super secret place, and don't apply or open too many new accounts. Remember that the number of inquires within the most recent 90days will lower your score. I think once you get your credit reports and trim up the accurancy of what is being report that will help your alot. Below websites are the 3 major bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission which is the governing party for the Fair credit reporting Act. hope it helps!
  7. 630 is well below average. An average score is closer to 690. There is room for improvement so if this is important to you read some of the questions and answers in this forum. Lots of good info.
