What is the average credit score in America?

Public Comments

  1. They say the average credit score is around 670. Although lenders have told me that anywhere from 630-680 is considered to be viewed as average from their point of view. When you start getting lower the 630 they may raise rates and give you more trouble with loans, and when you get above 680 you are going to have greater flexibilty and may get some good offers.

  3. While factors vary, individuals with FICO scores above 680 are generally deemed to be "acceptable" for standard pricing (the average borrower is in the 600s and 700s). Typically, the higher your credit score is, the greater your chances of getting better rates. If your score is below 620 you can still qualify for a mortgage, but the terms may be less favorable
  4. Iceman is correct.
  5. 620-680
