Bad credit fix?

Ok, here is my question i need real good advice here. I have some things that are in collection but i really dont have the extra cash right now to pay anything out. If i went to one of those debt consdilation things and have them help me pay off the bills, will this help or hurt my credit score? I do have a job, but i also raise 2 small kids on my own andh ave other bills also. The debt that I have is from many years ago..

  1. I've heard yes and no before to this question. It really depends on how much you owe. I recently just paid off all of my debt but it wasn't a lot (about $1,000). I contacted a debt consolidation company and asked for advice as to what to do. They told me to contact the collection places myself and work out payments. In the end it worked out the best, I now have both accounts closed in good standing as paid in full. If I were you I would just call and ask them their advice on it. They will tell you what is best for you to do.
  2. It could be both! I know how that sounds, but it depends a great deal on how you handle it. I'd go to the site below and read it fully. This one is very good and it has something for everybody! There are sponsors with links to go to on several pages that are exactly what you are looking for too on debt consolidation and I've used them for help repairing my credit as well. they delivered what they promised! Reading this site is well worth your time and take it from someone who's been there, you need all the relevant information you can get right now. I highly recommend this website!
  3. It will not help your credit score Only paying your debts and then re-establishing credit based of payment of bills on time, borrowing lightly and paying on time in an ongoing responsible manner, will fix your credit score. You earn your score, it doesn't come for free.
