  1. There is always a price to pay for overdoing it mate. There is nothing more satisfying than doing what you are doing, getting your head above water. My congratulations, normally you end up paying for a lot longer and more money when you get in debt. You will now have to try and build up a good credit rating, this is a very ,very slow and sometimes almost impossible target to achieve. You will most likely find your address has been put on a bad risk list, try and get it taken off when your debts are paid. good luck with it.
  2. ,THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CREDIT REPAIR COMPANY, A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING A PERSON WITH COMMONSENSE CANNOT DO THEMSELVES SUGGEST YOU GIVE THESE SO CALLED COMPANIES A WIDE BERTH AND SORT YOURSELF OUT. USING ONE WILL INEVITABLY LEAD YOU INTO MORE DEBT BELIEVE ME edit just noticed someone told you to go for a debt consolidation this is just another useless way to incur debt at high rates to keep someone in a high paid job these are also to be avoided At all costs completely rubbish to say they help you get out of debt THEY GET YOU INTO DEBT AND TO JED SLADE TRY ANSWERING THE QUESTION I AM SURE THE OP DID NOT REQUIRE YOU HIGH MORAL GROUND RANT
  3. There are two companies that anyone or organistion go to get credit details of an individual applying for credit. Experian and Equifax. What you need to do is go to each and read your own files. You can add too but not delete any information which too you seems incorrect. I'm an ex bankrupt and I know!
  4. yes
  5. It is possible to fix your bad credit, with time, patience and determination. The first step in repairing poor credit is fixing any problems you may have with money. Get a credit reports on yourself and check out what is on them. You are allowed by U.S. law to get a free copy from each of the three major credit companies once every 12 months. Once you have your credit reports, check them for accuracy. If there are any errors or things you disagree with, you are entitled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act law to dispute anything in the report that is not accurate. Write to the credit reporting company and explain what the problems are. They will then investigate the matter and let you know what happens. If they find the information is not accurate, they will fix that on your credit report. Unfortunately you can’t remove anything negative that is accurate information about you. Only time can do that. But adding more good information does help. If your credit needs repair, start work on it now. Start paying off old unpaid debts and loans, starting with the smallest ones. Start paying more than the minimum payment on your current credit card payments. Do not get into any new debt. This is essential. Make it a priority to get out of debt. Cut up (or lock up) the credit cards, if they are a problem for you. Make it a commitment to become debt free. Live within your means. Make a budget and live by it. Start saving money. If you have poor credit, it is much easier to buy a home or a car with a cash down payment, than without one. Even the debts lowered may be subject to costly fees during the tax invasion season. If you are fortunate to find a debt consolidation program that will help you without charging outrageous fees, then by all means consolidate your debts with the program's help. There are many sources of help available. Consumer Credit Counseling Service is one of the best for help repairing credit and getting debt under control. Consumer Credit Counseling Service provides budget counseling, educational programs, debt management assistance and housing counseling. There are also many local branches of this nonprofit organization, so check for one near your location. There are many “for profit” organizations that will help you with debt consolidation loans, but beware! They often are very expensive. You can get free reliable help that you can trust from a non-profit organization like Consumer Credit Counseling Service instead of paying hundreds of dollars to one of them. Or, you can educate yourself and do it for free. http://www.mytermloans.org/improveyourcredit.htm
  6. Credit repair companies DO NOT exist and the best way to repair your credit status is to not spend as much money. Save more. If you want a bank account you're going to have to start very small with an electron card, if you run that successfully the bank should upgrade you to a better bank account. So I'm afraid you're going to have to start at the very beginning and you'll get there. I know its frustrating as I've been there. perseverance is the best way.
  7. They can't do anything you can't do for yourself.
  8. In short - no Credit Repair companies cannot legally do anything that you can't do yourself. Their claims of being able to "remove adverse information" etc etc are simply not true. If all of your payments are now up to date (as opposed to the actual debt being cleared) and you don't have any County Court Judgements then give it a few more months and you should be fine. I went through a similar situation myself a few years back, I got into debt and couldn't pay it off etc etc. Then I got a new job and cleared everything in a short space of time, it was still another 6 months or so before I could get a bank to offer me enhanced facilities (ie a Switch/Maestro card) You could try asking for a "Solo" or "Electron" card from your bank though, there aren't that many places where these aren't accepted these days, and they don't carry the stigma like they once did...
  9. No one can help repair credit - it is illegal, all they do is arrange how you pay monthly payments and charge a bit for themselves.
