Is your credit rating bad before bankruptcy if you have been in debt for 6 years & not paid anything?
Can credit rating get better after bankruptcy or is it same as before if you have been in debt for long time & not paying back, even of credit rating is bad after bankruptcy isnt it still bad before it aswell.

- if you have not made any payments at all in six years, your best advise is to wait it out, after seven years they cannot count that in your credit score. however if you file bankruptcy now, you will be looking at an additional 7-10 years of low credit score and difficulty getting financing.
- My husband and I were declared bankrupt in 2001 and its only now that my credit rating has gotten better. I've got two credit cards and my credit score is better than ever, but because my husband's credit report still has things on it, it will be next year before he can apply for credit, so it does take time and I would enter into it lightly.
