What is the average credit score?

I am just curious. My husband and I have scores at about 720. We are told that this is really good (espcially for our age, 23). Anyhow, I am curious how that really measures up to others. Like how many (percent wise) have a score less then that and how many above it. Just want to know if it is as good as it sounds or we are happy over nothing. Thanks

1. Mines is up around the same and I am 22. When my boyfriend and I were applying for a mortgage the rep said that was an excellent score for my age. Be proud!
2. Creditreport.com has a chart with average credit scores per state. In IL it is 684; while MN it is 707; Washington DC is 677 http://www.creditreport.com/info/credit-scores/average-credit-scores.asp Experian puts the average at 692. 3. I believe the average is 680 in that area. Yes, 720 is A credit. Very good, With that you could buy a house at 5% down, and get the best rate out there.
4. It's a great score if you are planing on borrowing lots of money and paying lots of interest. If you pay as you go and live on less than you make you would be even better. Dont obsess with the I love debt score. A low score from not paying your bills is trouble. If you have a 0 score from not borrowing money. You can still get an apartment and a job. You can even get a home loan (with lowest interest rate) with manual underwiting. The way it used to be done before this fico score worship came along. check out daveramsey.com and listen to his radio show or watch him on Fox Business News Network. He has lots of good advice on money and debt. Some people call his views radical. 250 yrs ago people called our founding fathers radicals. I'd say he's in good company. Debt free is the way to be!
