Can my bank tell me what my credit score / rating is for free ?

- Everyone is entitled to a free copy of their credit report annually. www.annualcreditreport.com is the only authorized site. (There are plenty of sites that you can use, but I would stick with this one.)
- the bank cannot pull your credit unless you are applying for a product, such as a mortgage, business loan, credit card, etc.... otherwise no dice. www.annualcreditreport.com is the only FREE site that is legit. there are other out there that will give you your rating, but they usually charge you to view the actual FICO score.
- Only if you apply for a loan. Make sure you ask them first if you can have a copy before you apply. It may be their policy (if it's legal) not to share the report/scores with you. Most mortgage brokers will. If they don't give it to you, they will probably give you the number and/or address to the credit bureaus they used to look up your rating.
- banks are not credit bureaus they are banks i think they can look credit reports up when they are doing loans but that is usually the only way they can do it-its not there job and there are regulations that might put employees in jeopardy if they do this that's why it is just as easy to go to free credit report .com and get your free credit report (once a year)
- They don't have to, but if you're nice with them they could. I got it that way, but I couldn't get a paper copy. You'll have to ask for a loan or credit card. Good luck !
