Is there a difference bet. fico score and plus score?

I got a 709 plus score right now and a mortgage compay would rerun it again 2 weeks from now this time through fico score. Would it there be any difference on my plus score and fico score?

  1. I presume you are talking about the "new" vantage score. There are 2 main differences. The first difference is that whereas your fico score can differ slightly among the three bureaus, with vantage score, your score is the same. The score range is also different. For vantage score, it ranges from 501 to 990. It is also calculated slightly differently.
  2. The answer above is exactly on target, unless you are referring to the name each of the credit agency uses for "their" score. Experian calls theirs "Plus" score (formerly "Beacon"), TransUnion calls theirs "Empirica" score, and Equifax calls theirs FICO score. Also, yes there is a difference in the way that each agency scores the same credit profile. My experience has been that Equifax FICO tends to be the lowest of the 3 and Experian Plus tends to be the highest. It also matters where in the country you live.
