- "Cheapest?" It's free once a year from each of the major credit reporting agencies. Try www.expedia.com You can get it online.
- www.annualcreditreport.com Free. No strings attatched. Mandated by law. Most others have a catch, or require you to sign up for something.
- Usually your bank will offer credit monitoring/reports and not charge you for something like 3 months. Then you can either cancel or pay the monitoring fees, which aren't that much to protect your credit!
- You can get all three reports for $29.95 at http://www.bestcreditreports.com/ 3-in-1 Credit Report: $29.95 for a comprehensive report with data from all three national credit bureaus. Includes your credit score. I already used up my free one.
- You can try www.annualcreditreport.com first to get a free credit report with no strings. This is the first step to see if your credit needs any updating or fixing. Don't bother paying for it since you can get a copy for free for each of the 3 bureaus once every 12 months. Get a copy of all 3 bureaus at once to ensure you don't miss anything. The bureaus sometimes report different information. If you do find mistakes on your credit report, then you can turn to a pay service through your bank or through the 3 credit bureaus. They have monthly fees to monitor your credit. But you don't need to use them any longer than necessary. Maybe just a month or two to use their tools to fix any credit mistakes. But the best way to resolve your credit is to learn about it on your own and understand how it works. Learn more at http://www.thetruthaboutcreditcards.com
- You are entitled by law for 1 free credit report every year. To get your free report go here: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp That is the only site you want to go to (see Clark Howard link below). However, it will not provide your FICO score. You will have to pay for that. I believe there are instructions on that as you go through the process of getting your free report. Note that all 3 agencies have a different score for you (that is supposed to change, if not already). The previous poster said expedia.com. You want to go to experian.com. I would choose either equifax.com or experian.com for my FICO score, not TransUnion.
- Go to www.annualcreditreport.com. You can get all three for free instantly!
