How much will your credit score improve after a collections has been removed?

I just checked my credit report recently and there was an error on it that I disputed. They are now in the process of removing it from my report. I'm sure the answer is no, but is there any way to tell how much my score will go up when it's removed? I don't remember what it was before that faulty collections was put on there, but I know it will go up from what it is now.

  1. It depends on how long it was on there and how much your score went down.
  2. IT would be near impossible to determine how many points your score will go up. However, even when the removal happens don't expect instant results. Things like this usually take 30-60 days to update (I know - I had several negative items removed from my file and it took almost 2 months for the score to reflect it). Good luck!
