Would adding a utility bill to a credit report help boost the score?

I was wondering, if I add a utility bill such as water or gas to a credit report if it will boost a credit score assuming the payment history was prefect. I got some answers that did not answer my question either way, so let me add this. If I go out of my way to add a utility as a tradeline to my credit report (as in adding my car insurance payment or a gas bill to my equifax score), would this impact my score?

  1. Utility companies do not report to the credit bureaus. You are expected to pay on time, or your service will be shut off.
  2. A local utility company does not typically report to the Credit Bureau. unless you have gone into default then they report you are late and have not cleared the balance Some utility companies do report however with the becon and fico scoring systems they do not nake up high precentage of you rating. should they reprot it does allow other companies a chance to see your payment history ( could be considered a gateway creditor )
