- Hey bigj82nd, 730...WOOW congratulations! keep it up and up. Order your credit reports. Verify that everything is correct: spellings, name, middle initial, last name, date of birth, ss#, abbrebiations, present and past address, etc. If there is a mistake, send a letter updating your accurate personal information. Make sure everything is correct and remove what does not belong there, like old inquiries, old accounts with balance you have already paid off, etc. Include accounts in good standing that you see in one report but is not in another. You can do this by mail or on line if you have signed up with them. If by mail, certify the letter. Write to the 3 credit bureaus and tell them the following: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Attention: Experian/ Equifax/ TransUnion To whom it may concern: I request to have my name removed from your marketing lists. Here is the information you have asked me to include in my request: name date address home and work phone # ss# report # for Experian/ confirmation # for Equifax/ file # for TransUnion Thank you for your cooperation. (sign your name) (print your name) P.S. Thank you for your promt handling of my request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This letter will stop alot of the junk mail and the sell of your personal information. That alone will help you alot. Here are the addresses if you do it by mail: Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc. P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374 Experian National Consumer Assistance Center P.O. Box 2002 Allen, TX 75013 TransUnion LLC Consumer Disclosure Center P.O. Box 1000 Chester, PA 19022 If you pay on time, don't just pay off your acconts but pay them a little more. It is best if they owe you than you owing them. There is a big difference between payin off your monthly statement than liquidating a debt monthly. Good luck!!!
- If you are at 737, most likely getting to 750 will not help you in getting a better loan rate. Somebody with a score of 721 may be able to get the same rate as someone with a 830. So, once you have exceeded a certain level, your score does not make a big difference. The only other way to boost your score is with time.
