- Every dispute has different nature. You should state all the facts and details including the dates and the name of the company and the employees you had communicated with. Of course include the reason why you disagree.
- heres some links http://www.hillsidelending.com/creditdispute.htm http://www.myusds.com/sample_dispute_letters.htm https://www.eloan.com/s/show/cr-contact The last link is from e-loan and it looks better than the others. It has one initial letter and a follow up letter sample because you are probally going to have to send these people more than one. I had to send letters and call a bunch of times before anything ever got figured out. Hope this helps

- http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter1.shtml List of sample letters here http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/index.shtml Another sample http://www.cccsoc.org/pages/credit_guide/sample_02.phtml and more: http://www.bcsalliance.com/x_disputeletter1.html http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/personal-finance/creditcard-billing-errors-204/sample-dispute-letters/customize-your-letter/index.htm Make sure to send certified mail, so they have to sign for the letter, and you have a record of sending it. - Actually, the best way is to simply state the situation in your own words. It does not have to be fancy, and as a matter of fact the letters probably should be written in longhand and NOT typed out from a word processing program. (Remember that the credit bureaus get hundreds of these every day and they probably see the same form letters crop up constantly. If they think a dispute is frivolous then they do not have to investigate it) Simply say what the problem is. I have used things like "this belongs to someone else and not me", this debt is not mine, take it off right now it is damaging my credit", "this must belong to someone else of the same name, it is not me". One excuse that I actually used was to the effect that there were two other people living in the same county as me about five years previously, one even had the same middle initial, and this unpaid debt must have been theirs because I pay my bills on time, yada, yada. I also said in the same letter that this was obviously an old debt that they were shopping around until they found someone they could stick it to. This was sent to a collection agency that apologized and took it off my credit report (The item was legitimate, by the way, it WAS mine.) So just write them out by hand. Be indignant. This black mark is doing serious damage to your credit and you want it removed. By law they have to investigate and get verification that the debt is legitimate. If they fail to get this verification within 30 days then they must remove the item from your credit report. If this does not work on the first try, send another dispute letter and keep doing that about every 45 - 60 days until someone slips up and they miss the deadline. That's how it works. Check all three credit bureaus; if you have recently been denied credit you can get a copy of your credit report for free, and the credit bureaus will send you a copy when they complete their investigation, even if things are unchanged. Have fun, and remember, YOU are the injured party. They are doing you a grave injustice. I did this on my credit and everything cleaned up quite nicely, thank you, but it did take about two years. Don't expect overnight results.
