- Experian or one of the other credit companies should give you a copy.
- check out http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/freereports.shtm it is a government run website that will direct you to a free credit report through three reporters.
- www.equifax.com/ www.experian.com/ www.transunion.com
- freecreditreport.com
- If you are in the USA, the Federal Trade Commission has established a program for this purpose. The web site that describes the program is: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/freereports.shtm Be careful of imitators. Some are companies trying to sell you a credit report or other services, others are thieves. Some will use similar web addresses to mislead you. A detailed credit report from all three credit bureaus can be purchased from Equifax for around $35 at http://equifax.com
- AnnualCreditReport.com is the only government approved website to receive your free credit reports; no credit card required. Under the FACT Act, you're allowed one free report per bureau, once every 12 months. http://www.annualcreditreport.com
- Totally free credit reports give you a chance to look over your credit history, so you can check for errors or signs of identity theft. Before making any major purchase, you should review your credit report so you'll be aware of any potential problems in advance. You should also realize that any negative information that shows up accurately on your credit report isn't going away quickly.
