My credit report is Inaccurate; Job and CreditCard.?
I checked my free Credit Report for the first time and it says that I dont have any job information (unemployed). I graduated in May and started working on September 10th. The firm I work for gave me a credit card as well. Both, my job and the CC, and not displayed. The reason I checked is cause I applied for a creditcard and got a low creditline (500$) and that's somewhat useless. Any ideas? Is there a time those reports are updated? Am I supposed to dispute them? I haven't activated the card because I was given the lowest class available for the card. I wanted to mid-class. Thanks!

- If you just started working in Sept, its not surprising that there's no job info. Employers do not report job info to the credit bureaus. They get it from creditors when people apply for credit and list their employment on the application. If the credit card you have from your employer is a company card, it will not show up under your name because you are not the borrower.
- Your like 76% of all Americans who find their credit report is full of errors! I would consider very seriously, getting a credit monitoring service! Records are updated every 6 months and you should be keeping an eye out on your credit and this is the best way to do it! Go to the website below and read it all. It may be called credit repair, but for those who are just beginning to establish credit, like you, you might as well learn and understand how credit and credit scoring works! That's not a slam, I didn't get a lot of this either and my credit score was a lousy 485. Now it's a pretty good 720 and getting better all the time after I got help from this site! If you have to challenge things in your credit report, I would recommend a sponsored link in here to Lexingtom Law Firm! I used them and they helped me raise my score 140 points out of the 235 point raise I have!
- Sometimes it can take 4 months to report anything new. You could write a letter asking them to add employer. Also with new and all credit card you want to keep balance under 40% and pay off each month. This will raise your score fast. If you want a higher limit max out card and pay off every month and you will soon get a higher limit. I would start with this card and after a month or two offers will start coming in. Watch for rates! Why do you need credit cards, what is your goal?
- There is no law that requires anything to be reported. The only requirement of the law (FCRA) is that if something IS being reported then that something has to be accurate and complete. Neither your job nor your trade lines (CC) have to be in your credit reports. You also cannot dispute information that is not in your report. Your card activation has nothing to do with your account. Even if you do not activate your new card the account is already open. So if you do not want to have this card you need to call the bank and close your account.
- I am Self employed and earn approx. 70 thou a year. I was discharged from bankruptcy and divorce August 17th, 2000. My credit report does not show any of this, my account should have been cleared of all charges as of this date.... I applied for a credit card yesterday and they refused saying my credit was a D.
