Question on Loan to repair credit?

my credit score is 580. I've been slowly repairing my credit. I'm 24 and messed it up when I was younger and didn't know any better then left it alone becuz I lost my job and couldn't handle the collection agnencies, etc. Anyway I was a kid then and now i'm trying to get it repaired. What I want to do is a debt consolitdation loan, so i can just make one payment instead of small various loans, my debt is split up with various collectors/debts but equal a bit less than 10k. It's just tough dealing with collectors, becuz i don't always have the money upfront and they want it all and it's hard to trust them. Anyway is there a place to get a loan? i've tried some banks, and credit unions but keep getting denied becuz my credit score is so low and the debts are on there and have been there for a few years; i just feel like i'm trapped between a rock and a hard place in order to get this fixed.

4. I suggest you check out www.prosper.com Prosper is an on-line micro-lending community. You just register and Prosper assigns you a credit risk. Then you put out a request for funds. Let’s say you want $5K for medical bills at 15%. Individuals will then typically pledge between $50-500 at the interest rate of their choice. You get to decide if you want to pay that amount. If your loan is fully funded Prosper gives you the money and acts as a loan servicer. You pay Prosper, Prosper takes a small cut and divides up the rest to the other lenders. Take a look. I sugggest that you offer a high rate on a few grand. Start with 20% and go up if needed. Pay on it for a while then pay it off.
5. Don't have your credit report pulled anymore. Right now no lender is going to give you a $10,000 signature loan with rough credit history and if you have assets to get a secured loan, you may need to sell them outright. Take one debt at a time and see if you can work out a payment plan or settle for 50% of the balance. Request that they at least stop accruing interest on the debt. They will negotiate, creditors are desperate to get these accounts satisfied. Can you borrower from a relative? Offer to pay them back w/interest if necessary. Do not give the creditors your work number and if they are calling work insist that they stop. Begin to reestablish your credit with a small secured card - pay the balance off in full each month. This will begin to raise your scores. We are approaching the holiday season - get a part time job.
6. There are non-profit credit counseling agencies that can help you. They don't charge a fee and they do exactly what you ask: they deal with your creditors on your behalf and they act as a middleman for paying your bills. You won't have to talk to the creditors directly again. See Sources for the one that I recommend and also for a link to more information.
7. Don't give up, it's easy to mess your credit up, but a hard and long process to clear it up. If you're really serious go to one of those credit counseling places (non profit) and sign up. You can pay them and they'll pay your creditors. This takes a while but you can always pay more when you have it. The good thing about this is that no one can take you to court for these debts while ypu are paying this company. Anytime you get extra money give it to them. Instruct them to pay the smaller amounts first. People say this hurts your credit and it may, but it's already messed up and it can only help in the long run. I did this and after a year There was 2 more accounts I needed to pay. I stopped the counseling and offered a settlement to the creditors. They were so tired of getting $20 every two weeks they jumped on an amount of less than 50% of what I owed. I then started rebuilding with secured credit cards. This was about 5 years ago, I've ran into some problems since then, but I know this works.
