Companies that claim to repair your credit for a fixed fee????
I have a bad credit history and recently contacted a company that said they can clear and repair my credit status in just 6 weeks for £122, Can this actually be done or is it just a con? Has anyonw here had this service done or know of anyone that has??

- SCAM how can they fix it by making you poorer and more in debt. If you saved the money instead that will help.
- I dont know anything about credit in the UK, but here in the USA there are plenty of scams. I used a company that worked, this is their site.......... http://www.expert-credit-advice.com/ They charged me a monthly fee and every month they disputed negative items and hits on my credit using federal law and did a good job.They also cleaned up a lot of id theft and personal info problems I had. It took almost 8 months, but the end result was good. I would be very skeptical about anyone that claims they can repair your credit in 6 weeks. 6 months if you have mildly bad credit, a year OR LONGER if you have horrible credit! EVEN THEN THERE IS NO GUARANTEE AS TO WHAT THE CREDIT BUREAUS WILL DO! There is a new type of so called credit repair where people open a new credit file by using a new fake social or employee id #. This is illegal and you should stay away from anyone that says they can do that... You must also understand, (which I was taught), credit repair is not just removing negative info, its about adding positive info, different types of accounts, keeping balances low, using your credit and making payments on time.
