  1. waste of time and money and will make your credit worse
  2. None of those companies can take anything off your credit "legally" and I wouldn't trust anyone that says otherwise. they will just take your money & run. I speak from personal experience. a fraudlent "credit counseling company" stole $800 from my husband and I and just made our credit score even worse. We would have been better off doing it ourselves. they did nothing we couldn't have done on our own.
  3. They can't do anything you can do. First, you have to pay the debt off, or make an arrangement for the creditor to take a partial amount as full payment (known as a write off). Then, after the debt is actually zero, you can ask that it be removed by the creditor. If you paid in full, with no write-off, then there's a 30% chance they will do so just for asking. If they took a loss, they are highly unlikely to do so. Any fees you pay as stated in the question are a waste of money that you could be paying your creditors. Removing things is less effective than simply waiting it out. It takes about 18 months of "good" reports to effectively change your score. If the items are paid and are older than that, they are almost ignored (only very slight effect on scores) The best way to fix your credit is to pay everyone off, and then be good for 18 months - and hopefully for the rest of your life.
  4. I used Lexington Law and it worked. They worked for months on my credit report and removed a lot of derogatory info. They are not very expensive and well worth every penny.
  5. I have some experience with them. I now run a credit repair business of my own. I would advise you to try and pay some of those medical bills. There is no guarantee on getting medical bills removed. They are hard to remove unless you pay them.
  6. You are better off calling those medical providers yourself and schedule a payment plan with them and send them the money yourself too. That is all these agencies do and you pay them to do something that you can do yourself for free. Take the time and accomplish it yourself.
  7. credit repair is a scam. you can repair it yourself free. pay your bills early or on time over a period of months, years... never miss a payment.
  8. They suck; they don't challenge EVERY negative item EVERY time they send dispute letters. They try to drag out the process of something that you could actually do yourself with a little help. There is an easy to use online kit that will deliver the results you want available for just $19.95 at the source website. A similar kit is being sold via infomercials and radio talk shows for seventy dollars more but they try to solicit you repeatedly for other services after the fact.
  9. as far as I know it does take a little longer than 3 months, but you should really try calling this company that just removed some things off my credit file. They were really nice and actually worked, since most other places i went ripped me off. Millenium Financial Services, at thhe below site.
