  1. Ur either young or u got non paid bills on ur credit. So make sure everything is paid off. If it is, get u a visa credit card (NOT A STORE CARD) an put some small things on it and pay them off fairly quickly. In a year to 2 years ur credit score will be alot higher. Buying a house is a 20 to 30 year commitment. So take a year or two and build ur credit score, it will pay off greatly. Higher ur score, less intrest rate. Plus this will give u time to help build a really good down payment. patients is the name of the game when financing.
  2. That all depends on why your score is low. If it is low because you've been forgetful in paying bills, you need to get everything paid. You also need to be able to explain why your bills were delinquent and try to show some proof that you've changed your ways. If your score is low because you are just beginning to establish credit, try to open a few different types of credit accounts. Don't use them unless you can pay them off monthly. In other words, you'll be using them only to demonstrate your ability to manage your money. You're going to want to show that the balance between your income and your debts will allow you to make a house payment and take care of the upkeep of the property. Good luck.
  3. What we did was: got reports from all 3 Credit Bureaus, looked them over and had the resolved stuff, and old stuff removed and errors fixed. it cleaned up our score very nicely, and we got financed the next month.
