what is the number range for a credit score?

Public Comments

  1. 420-850 in Experian
  2. 0-999 is the full range. The realistic range is about 300 to about 850. 999 means you never accessed the credit system.
  3. 350 TO 850
  4. Credit scores range from 375 to 900 points, but those numbers mean little on their own. They become meaningful and useful within the context of a particular lender's own cutoff points and underwriting guidelines.
  5. FICO scores (the system that matters the most) range from 300 to 850. If your score is 720 or higher, you have excellent credit and can get the best rates on mortgages, loans, etc. There are other systems besides FICO, but these systems are not used as much by lenders. All three major credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) have their own way of determining your FICO score based on what is reported to them, so technically you have 3 different FICO scores. They're probably all about the same.
  6. 350 - 850 Here is some additional info. Hope this helps.
  7. 720-850 - excellent 700-719 - good 675-699 - fair 620-674 - questionable 560-619 - caution 500-559 - high risk 350-499 - lowest possible score
  8. Sarcastro is the only correct answer here. FICO is 300-850 There is a new version of scores announced March 2006 called the Vantage Score which will eventually dominate everywhere including internationally. This score ranges from 501-990 Learn all there is to know about FICO here: http://www.expert-credit-advice.com/credit_score.htm
  9. For the normal FICO score, the range 350 - 850. FICO came out with a NextGen FICO in 2001 which ranges from 300 - 950, but it has not been widely accepted yet.
  10. Speaking as a nationally known credit score and lending expert (book, radio shows, newpaper column, etc).... Each bureau has it's own range, but they are similar. 350-850 400-836 350-900
