free credit scores

I bought my 3 credit scores and got this error message for 2 of them?

PLUS Score from Experian (and Transunion) We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot accurately provide a score for the credit file you have requested. The file is reported as either unavailable, or does not show any record of credit accounts. If you feel that this is an error, please contact the credit bureau directly to dispute the status of this information. Thank you. ....To the first 2 responders.... I already purchased my 3 score report through experian.com. I recieved all three reports but only 1 score. The other 2 scores gave the error message above.

  1. You should have used https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp to get your reports, this service is free of charge. Credit scores can only be obtained by paying a fee. Depending on how many accounts you have and which ones report to who. Not all creditors report to all three. If you have only a few accounts then chances are they are reporting to only one credit reporting agenciess. Also each agencie charges a fee to obtain the FICO Score, so the site you used to obtain your score may only include payment for Equifax and not the other 2. Hope this helps.
  2. The best thing that you could do is to ask them directly as stated in the message. Not everything that is on one agency's report will be on the other, so that may be the problem right there...there is nothing to report. But what I think is important for you as the consumer is that you don't need to BUY your credit report. You can get a copy of it free once per year by contacting the credit agency directly. That is FREE, whereas the FreeCreditReport.com gives you one free if you enroll in some service. Completely different. Hope this helps some, bob
  3. Why would you obsess over your credit file? Is there an issue?
  4. To get an accurate score anyway, you need to purchase through http://www.myfico.com/ They are the only scores that lenders look at. The individual credit bureaus offer their own scores, which are the ones you purchased, known as FAKO scores, but they aren't the same. If you go to buy a house, the lenders are looking at your FICO score. Seeing your FAKO scores isn't a bad idea, it just isn't what the lenders would look at. I would contact their customer service. Each credit bureau has a contact number. Call them and tell them what happened. If you can't see your scores through them, you shouldn't have to pay for it, they should give you a partial refund for the part you can't see.
