Credit Repair?

I know raising your credit score takes time but can anyone give me some advice other than pay on time (already know this tip) on how to do so? My score is in the 400s. Please help.

1. get someone to cosign with you on a loan of over $5000
2. As soon as you can, get a secured or unsecured credit card and charge a minimal amount on it. Pay it off on the first billing cycle. If you repeatedly do this, it will raise your score higher.
