Credit Repair??????
I have recently paid off all my credit cards thru debt counseling, and 2 collections. How long will it take to improve my credit score with everyhting showing paid?

- It will improve steadily each month but 2 years minimum and then probably 4-5 before you're in the better than average category.
- I am surprised your debt counselor didn't give you any information. Three to six months is the average time before you will see an improvement in your credit score.
- Congratulations on getting out of debt! It's usually about six months to a year. Your score may jump a little right after everything posts as being paid with a zero balance. As more time passes, your score will improve as long as you make on-time payments to accounts that you have open, and that you do not get into more debt. See the myfico website to see how they calculate your score.
- It is good that you have taken responsibility for your debt and done what was necessary to fix your situation. I know that it has been difficult, but you did it! Pat yourself on the back and breathe a sigh of satisfaction. Credit restoration is an option for you at this point. While time alone will, indeed, improve your score slowly and steadily, having a legitimate credit restoration company remove all those negatives from your credit report will improve your score that much more quickly. There are a few legitimate credit restoration companies out there. Not many, but a few. There are many things to consider when choosing a credit restoration company. Read my article at http://creditconcerns.blogspot.com/2007/01/truth-about-credit-repair-arent-they.html to find out how to tell the difference between a legitimate company and a potentially fraudulant company.
