I was wondering if anyone who has been to these credit repair companies? If so, do they really repair your credit? Bye how much? How much did it cost? How long was the process? What's the company name you went to? Would you recommend it to others? What other advice do you have for others that want to improve there credit score? or What to look for?

  1. There's only one thing credit repair firms excel at: taking your money...
  2. Don't waste your money on something you can do yourself. Most credit repair companies can't do more than you can, and the others can't do much at all. If you have unpaid debts contact those companies and offer them payment for removal. Most collection agencies will go for it. Especially at the end of a year. Christmas is always the best time to get credit fixed. Decembers are very slow for agencies...anything to get money.
  3. Only trust companies that are actually Lawyers, the rest if marketing and honestly stuff you could learn and do yourself just by studying info available for free at www.credit.com Entities like CCC are actually funded by Visa and Mastercard so you know from "go" who's best interests are in mind right?
  4. None......and i do mean NONE of those credit repair companies are legit They are going to take your money.....save yourself money, time and heartache and fix your own credit You need to check out Dave Ramsey and/or Suze Orman show about those credit repair companies.
  5. In general most do not do anything except take your money which leaves you less to pay bills. Debt consolidation is another usual scam. Your best bet is to get a credit counselor to help you with your problems. They charge a small fee and some even can waive the fee depending upon your income. Here is a link to agencies recognized by the FTC as honest. http://www.usdoj.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/cc_approved.htm Govt approved credit counseling agencies. Avoid credit repair agencies that charge a fee to improve your FICO score by removing negative, but accurate, information from your credit reports. No one can force credit reporting agencies or lenders to remove accurate information from a credit report. Credit repair companies often take your money without delivering what they promise, or provide only temporary improvements of your score, sometimes by removing accurate information that will reappear later. Hope this is of help to you.
  6. I went to totaldebtsolutionsllc.com They have programs starting at $125 for a 90-day credit repair program all the way to $1995 for a tradeline program. The cheaper one gave like 40 points and the tradeline did like 110 points. They have midrange programs as well. Good luck.
  7. Go to Consumer Credit Counseling...they'll do everything that can legally be done. (Some of the things you see advertised are not legal, and some companies claim to be able to do things that they CAN'T.) You can find more info here: http://debt.knowledged.info/credit_card.html Hope it all works out
