Credit rating question?

If I buy something with my credit card and go home and pay it off right away; will it hurt my credit rating?

  1. No I do not think so
  2. No, as long as you don't exceed your card limit.
  3. Absolutely not. In fact you're building your credit by paying on time. And by using 35% of your actual credit limit (even if you did, if you paid it off before 30 days you're in the clear). Credit card companies would prefer you not pay so quickly because they want to make money off the interest, but that's not a big deal. They'll just keep increasing your limit until you accure a finance charge one day when you can't pay it all off in one shot. As for your credit, it will always show you have a ZERO balance and paid on time which is good for you! There used to be that rumor that you should let the balance roll over because it was better for your credit than paying it right off. That's just not true. Do you think you're more likely to get a loan (auto house etc) with a lot of credit cards showing balances on your report. Or a lot of credit cards all showing ZERO balance? Your FICO score will also drop if you have credit cards that are at 35% of their max
  4. No. It will not hurt your credit rating. Your credit rating is only hurt if you exceed your credit limit, do not make payments or make your payments late.
