The credit report companies are RUINING my credit. HELP!!?
how do I resolve a credit report dispute when they have the wrong info and refuse to change it? I have had some wrong info on my credit report for several years now and I have not been able to get it fixed by sending in the normal dispute forms to Experian, Trans-whatever, etc, and it has been negatively affecting my credit. They have someone else's name mixed up with my name and the names are similar and this other person has some major credit issues, relating to a vehicle that they had purchased. Sent the credit report companies my photo ID, with other proof of ID and a long letter. But they keep send me letters of refusal and insisting it's me. What can I do??

- I suggest you verify the name of the owner of the vehicle with the Land Transportation Office in your area. If someone else has a similar name with yours, you have to get the other person's middle name which will resolve the issue.
- If they refuse to delete inaccurate information on your credit file...your best option is to sue them for Fair Credit Reporting Act violations.
