has anybody ever used a credit repair company?
In particular a company called credit for all or any other repair company. They say they can remove bad credit from your file mainly because most of the finance companys dont keep great records thus unable to provide proof so you can get items removed.

- Why would you pay anyone to do it for you? You can just as easily contest items on your report. Of course, you can't legally contest accurate information.
- I did, then I found out that I can do the exact same thing myself for free. just log into Credit beureau website and file a dispute on the items you want stricken from your credit report. The company you owe will have 30 days to respond. If they do not, it comes off. Be aware, though. If they choose to deny the dispute, it may start the 7 year clock on that debt all over again.
- I used one and it really did work. I bought my house months later.
- Dun ever go to one. they will cheat your money and make you pay them. so u got to pay 2 people now. the bank and the credit repair company. try out this innovative way to clear your credit card debt. its free to try anyway! http://www.clear-credit-card-debt.com
- I HAVE. And I would say that they CAN be worth using in the right circumstances. When I started using a credit repair firm, my credit scores were all in the low to mid 500's. After about 6 months of their service, I improved my TransUnion and Equifax scores almost 100 points (Now in the 650 - 670 range). The MAJOR DRAWBACK was that Experian refused to take any of their disputes and kept sending me letters explaining how I could send such letters on my own. After 4 of these letters I wised up and started the process on my own. You can find more info here: http://debt.knowledged.info/credit_card.html Hope that helps.
