Credit Repair?

Hello, I am trying to get financed for a mazad miata. The salesman I have been working with indicated that because of several dings on my credit report he could get me financed but only with about 5K down. He advised me that he knew someone who could legally dispute alot of the dings and get them removed from my credit report. He claims he was able to get his own scroe raised above 700 points and said he could show me proof of that. My question is it worth going to see him to get more information on repairing my credit. He said it would only cost about 300-500 dollars and would only take about 45-60 days. Is it that easy to legally dispute debts and get them removed from my credit report. Am I looking at hidden charges?

  1. Credit repair services are SCAMS. Don't fall for it. You can dispute any *inaccurate* information from your credit report yourself, for free. That is your legal right. Why pay someone else for that? Order your credit report (it's free from the credit bureaus) and see if anything there is false. If so, alert the credit bureau in writing, along with any proof you have. You cannot "dispute" debts; you either owe them, or you don't. Anyone who tells you different is trying to part a fool from his money. The best way to improve your score is to pay your debts on time. ALWAYS make the minimum monthly payment. For credit cards, try not to owe more than 30% of your max credit limit. Owing more than that reduces your credit score. Don't close old accounts, because having old accounts in good standing helps boost your score. And find a different salesman. The guy's a scam artist.
  2. NO, but you can do it yourself with letters of explanations and receipts. You can also pay your credit card debt down below 40 percent and watch your scores rise.
  3. I agree with Diane, DON'T DO IT. That $300-500 can go more towards the down payment or paying down collections. The best person to repair your credit is YOU. There are companies out there, but they do no more than you can do by doing some research. There's a LOT of resources out there that can help you fix your own credit. Even if they dispute the dings, that by no means doesn't guarantee that they won't resurface later on. There's a RIGHT and a WRONG way to fix it. Debt validation, and "pay to deletes" are right ways to fix credit while frivolous disputes are not. I posted several links that should help you improve your score
  4. It's a scam and you know what dont deal with that man Please listen to what all of us is telling you You can clean up your own credit and dispute items that are not yours....if its yours then NOTHING can be done to remove it because its a legitimate debt All you can do is pay off everything you can in full and for the rest of the debt you should call them and negotiate a settlement and/or payment plan
  5. How about you send me $500 and I'll do it?!? Seriously why would you not only give a total stranger access to your credit but pay them $500? You don't know this salesman let alone his supposed friend!!! Have you pulled your credit reports? First do that. Then remove all incorrect personal information especially old addresses. When the corrected reports come back across the board ask them to "verify" all the negative accounts. Do not say they aren't yours.....simply ask they verify the accounts because you do not recognize them. For the ones they don't delete send letters CMRRR (certified mail return receipt required) to the collection agencies. And at the same time send a request to the CRAs asking them to send you the method of verification used on the accounts they didn't delete. Once you clear the negative accounts from your reports then you need to start with a secured card that has a low or no fee. In a year from when you clean up your credit and get the secured card check your reports again (sometimes collection agencies simply sell your account) and check your FICO score to see how you're doing. Do not do pay for deletes!!! They don't work! Do you really think a collection agency give a **** about you once they have your money? LMAO No they don't and it doesn't matter if you have a letter saying it will be deleted....it's just a letter not a contract afterall.
  6. I would have to agree with everyone here so far. Why pay that much money when you can do it yourself for free. I had to do the same with my credit at one time. The problem I encountered was time. I was working 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. That doesn't leave much time for much else and repairing your credit takes time. When I found this site http://www.bestcreditrepairsite.info is when I was able to start making a difference because it saved me lots of time that I didn't have in the first place. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi, To be honest its really quite simple to do it yourself. I raised my score 135 points in 37 days. That's a lot of money to send a couple of letters. I wrote a book about it. You can fix it quite quickly. :)
