  1. NO! Forget the whole idea. There are some places our there that are slightly more legitimate than others but the bottom line is that your credit is composed of information based on the way that YOU handle your finances and YOU are the best one to fix it after youve broken it. Deal with the consequences if you've hurt your credit because there is NO quick fix anyway. If you're really concerned about it (which I would be if it's not good credit), read a book about credit scoring. As boring as that sounds, a bad credit score can cost you tens of thousands of dollars over the course of your life in terms of higher mortgage rates, higher credit card rates, more deposits for things like cell phones or utilites, and even higher car and homeowners insurance premiums!!! I'd be happy to consult with you further if you have additional questions. Taking the easy way out in this case will almost definitely cost you more in the end! Good luck!
  2. Don't even try! They will just take your $$$.
  3. Most larger cities and/or counties have credit counseling for free. Locate one of these and sit down with them and allow them to help you out. Those that you pay a fee to are usually a lot of BS. The will make promises of cutting your interest rate and/or of lumping all your bills into one monthly payment until you are debt free. After a few months you will find that you are not much further along than when you started and you are paying a fee for the experience. First, cut up the credit cards. Transfer your balances to a card with a much lower interest rate. Set up a payment plan and stick to it paying off the highest interest rate bill first while making minimum payments on the others. As you pay one bill off, lump that payment with the minimu payment of the next highest interest rate and take care of that one.... Continue until you are out of debt. If need be use envelopes for each bill that you have and as soon as you get paid stuff the envelopes. No excuses. Do it each and every month. Your credit will repair itself over time as you pay off your bills on a continuing basis. Just don't incur more debt simply by paying cash. If you don't have the cash, then don't make the purchase.
  4. The only way to repair your credit is to pay your bills. So, No they don't work.
