Do foreigners living in the US have credit ratings?
I just moved here to the US for college since last August, and I wanna know if I have credit ratings so that I can borrow money....do I actually have a credit rating (I have a social security number), and if I do, how will I be able to check it? Will I be able to participate in social lending networks such as prosper.com?

- Nobody has a credit rating until they build one, no matter if you are a US native, or a foreigner. You can start building credit slowly like everyone else - getting a cell phone in your name, utility bills, etc. Take good care of your credit, and within a matter of a couple of years, your score will reflect that, and enable you to make larger purchases on credit (such as cars, and eventually property if you want).
- you can build one through the military there are some guys from Kuwait that have to many cards most already maxed out
