- Companies like Capital One, Orchard Bank, Citibank can help to repair your credit. - The best type of credit card that people with no credit or poor credit open is a SECURED CARD. It can either be fully or partially secured depending on the amount you deposit to open the card. For example, depositing $500.00 to open a credit card with $500 credit line is fully secured whereas just deposting $100.00 to open the same card is partially secured. The bank will decide which you qualify for. This money will be deposited in an account under your name and will be used as collateral meaning if you ever default on this card, they will use that money or part of that money to pay for the card. Using this card will be just like a regular unsecured credit card. It will help build your credit. It will increase your score as long as you are responsible with the card. If for about year, you have proven yourself a responsible customer who always pays on time and never goes over the limit, then you can request the bank to unsecure the card. They will return your money and the card will be converted into a regular credit card.
