
I applied to get my free credit score . Why was I not able to get it?

- You can get a free credit report...I think you have to pay to actually see the score though. Also, you can only have one free report a year.
- probably because some unscrupuluos person just wanted your ssn. and any other personal info you were gulable enough to give out.

- The reason you must pay for your score is because consumer agencies hate giving something away. Since it is now a mandated law you get 1 report a year, they DONT have to give the score away, so they charge their 9.95 - 14.95 for it and give you bull***t monitoring services and other garbage that we hardworking Americans can do without for free. Your score is an important number, but knowing what is on your report and correcting those items is a bit more important, since your number is only useful to mortgage companies and creditors.
- You are entitled to a free credit report from each of the major reporting agencies. A credit score is something different and therefore not free.
