how can i get a free credit report and my credit score...w/o giving any info on my credit or banking account??

i dont want to give my credit card or checking account info out..i want a TOTALLY FREE credit report and score? i want to do this online

1. Go to your local credit bureau and ask for one. You get one free one a year.
2. go to freecreditreport.com they give it to you and you can even dispute things on you credit report for free.
3. You can get your official score from each of the 3 reporting companies. These companies have set up a 1-800 number where you can ask to recieve one over the phone. Do not trust any free credit report sites except those officially authorized by the Federal Trade Commission which include the 3 main companies that compile your credit score (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion). My source includes official government information regarding free credit reports and how to get one. It doesn't make sense to trust other credit reporting sites when you can get information officially from those that actually compile your credit score. "The law allows you to order one free copy of your report from each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies every 12 months."
